CBB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Basketball

Stud CBB Picks Today

Paolo Banchero ($9,200) — While Oscar Tshiebwe continues to dominate projections, Kentucky actually has a difficult matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers. Meanwhile Paolo Banchero and the Duke Blue Devils find themselves in the best game environment on the slate. Duke is a 10.5-point favorite over Wake Forest in a game with a 149-point total. The potential number one overall pick, Banchero has played 34, 34 and 38 minutes in Duke’s last three games contributing a 22.2% shot rate, 29% rebound rate and 23.7% assist rate. Overall, he is a strong pivot away from Tshiebwe and even Alondes Williams on the other side. For those looking cheaper, Trevor Keels stands out for Duke.

The Awesemo CBB DFS basketball optimizer was boosting Banchero to the top of the optimal lineup projections today. For all of our free CBB picks, check out the DraftKings CBB Cheat Sheet and FanDuel CBB Cheat Sheet today.

David Jones ($8,700) — One of the below average games on the slate, DePaul is a 4-point favorite over Butler in a game with a 129 total. Despite the poor environment, both teams are intriguing due to injuries. DePaul still expects to miss Javon Freeman-Liberty and Javan Johnson, setting up David Jones for another monster performance. Jones has now played 43, 37 and 30 minutes in three straight game, contributing a 24.2% shot rate 31.7% rebound rate and 33.3% assist rate. Even in a poor game, so much usage flows through Jones that he must be considered in tournaments.

J.D. Notae ($8,500) — Another one of the strong game environments on this slate, Arkansas is an 8-point favorite over Missouri in a game with a 140-point total. After battling foul trouble in Arkansas’ most recent game, J.D. Notae finds himself in a strong bounce back spot. Notae leads the team with a 23.1% usage rate, while typically playing almost every minute. Missouri ranks 253rd in defensive efficiency and 258 against the 3. Between his elite usage, minutes and matchup, Notae is a strong buy low candidate in this game environment.

Mid-Range CBB Picks Today

Bo Hodges ($6,300) — On the other side of the DePaul game, Butler also has an underpriced stud in Bo Hodges. Injured to start the year, Hodges has now played 32, 36 and 28 minutes in Butler’s last three games. In that span, Hodges has accounted for 19.9% of the shots, 29.7% of the rebounds and 15% of the assists. DePaul ranks 148th in defensive efficiency, giving Hodges another opportunity to outperform his salary here.

Phlandrous Fleming ($6,000) — In a relatively weak mid-range, Phlandrous Fleming pops after playing 29, 30 and 32 minutes for Florida in their last three games. In that span he has a 17.6% shot rate, 21.3% rebound rate and 11.8% assist rate. Florida is a 1-point underdog to a Texas A&M team in a game with a 134.5-point total.

RayQuan Evans ($5,600) — Perhaps the most injured team on the slate, Florida State is missing Malik Osborne, Anthony Polite, Naheem McLeod and now potentially Caleb Mills. With so many injuries, Florida State has been forced into a condensed rotation. Typically a glue guy, RayQuan Evans has now played 25, 25 and 30 minutes in three straight games for Florida State. He has a 15.3% shot rate and 28.6% assist rate in that span with room for more growth if Mills sits. Even with so many injuries, Florida State is still a 1.5-point favorite over Clemson in game with a 138-point total.

CBB Value Picks Today

Landers Nolley ($4,700) — A questionable value late overall, Memphis Landers Nolley pops in projections after recently returning from injury. Memphis is a 3-point favorite over Cincinnati in a game with a 143-point total. While the total looks solid, Memphis typically uses a 12-man rotation, depressing DFS upside. However, Nolley is cheap after the injury and he played 36 minutes in Memphis’ most recent game. Nolley actually ranks second on the team with a 16.7% usage rate. In their last three, he has a 12.5% shot rate and 18.2% assist rate, which have been climbing. One of the few value plays capable of playing 30+ minutes, Nolley becomes a decent value play out of necessity.

Cam’Ron Fletcher ($4,500) — With the injuries to Florida State mentioned above, numerous players below $5,000 have a chance to play 25-plus minutes. The top option here looks like Cam’Ron Fletcher after he logged 28 minutes after the Mills injury in their most recent game. Fletcher has a 12.6% shot rate, 19.8% rebound rate and 11.4% assist rate in Florida State’s last three games. Now potentially seeing more minutes, Fletcher could be the best value play on the board without Mills. Other potential values here are Wyatt Wilkes, John Butler and Harrison Prieto.

Eddie Lampkin ($4,300) — While the value on this slate is weak outside of Florida State, TCU may have a potential GPP pivot in Eddie Lampkin. TCU is currently a 3.5-point favorite over Iowa State in a game with a 127.5-point total. Lampkin has now played 28 minutes in back-to-back games. Primarily a rebounded, Lampkin has a 29.9% rebound rate in TCU’s last three games. If Lampkin can find any sort of shot ceiling, his double-double upside makes him an attractive play at $4,300.
