CBB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Basketball

Stud CBB Picks Today

Jalen Wilson ($7,800) — At the top of pricing, the Kansas studs Ochai Agbaji and Christian Braun look intriguing, but a few $7,000- to $8,000 studs project a little better from a price-adjusted perspective. One particular player in Jalen Wilson also happens to play for Kansas. The Jayhawks have a slate-leading 76.75-point implied team total as 10.5-point favorites over Oklahoma State in a game with a 143-point total. Recently condensing their rotation, Kansas has increasingly used Wilson. Over Kansas’ last three games, Wilson has played 38, 32 and 29 minutes for the Jayhawks. More importantly, he has contributed a 20.1% shot rate, 26% rebounding rate and 21.1% assist rate in that span. Oklahoma State plays strong interior defense, but Kansas simply has the superior roster. Saving some salary with Wilson looks advantageous here.

Ryan Hawkins ($7,200) — Behind Kansas, Creighton has the second-highest implied team total as a 10-point favorite over Georgetown in a game with a 140.5-point total. Creighton also expects to play without Arthur Kaluma, narrowing their distribution of minutes. In Creighton’s last game without Kaluma, Ryan Hawkins stepped up to play 37 minutes. In the two games prior, Hawkins also notched 36 and 30 minutes. Over those last three, Hawkins has a 20.6% shot rate, 15.3% rebound rate and 16.3% assist rate. While Ryan Kalkbrenner and Alex O’Connell are also viable plays in this rate, Hawkins has the safest rates and the highest usage on the year. With Georgetown ranking 289th in defensive efficiency, Hawkins sets up for a solid game here.

According to the Awesemo lineup optimizer, Hawkins was showing up highly in the college basketball projections. He’s shaping up as one of the best CBB picks on the slate tonight. Check out all of our free DFS plays today from the DraftKings CBB Picks Cheat Sheet and FanDuel CBB Picks Cheat Sheet.

Markquis Nowell ($7,100) — A middling game environment overall, Kansas State is a 3-point favorite over West Virginia in a game with a 133-point total. Despite the lower team total, Kansas State still offers some usability with their condensed usage. Both Nijel Pack and Markquis Nowell has usage rates north of 20%, but Nowell saves an extra $900. Over Kansas State’s last three games, Nowell has played 44, 20 and 37 minutes, with the 20-minute game caused by foul trouble. In that span, Nowell has a consistent 19.8% shot rate, 14% rebound rate and 39.5% assist rate for the Wildcats. West Virginia does rank 76th in defensive efficiency, but Nowell’s involvement across statistical categories keeps him squarely in play here.

Mid-Range CBB Picks Today

Ryan Nembhard ($6,100) — Creighton is one of the most attractive teams to target on tonight’s slate. On top of Hawkins, Kalkbrenner and O’Connell, Ryan Nembhard has also played 38, 36 and 35 minutes in each of Creighton’s last three games. Posting a 14.5% usage rate on the year, Nembhard has contributed a 13.5% shot rate, 10.2% rebound rate and 32.6% assist rate over the last three games. Much cheaper than the three aforementioned players, Nembhard opens a unique construction and provides similar upside to the other Creighton studs.

Mouhamed Gueye ($5,700) — Occupying the late nighttime slot on tonight’s slate, Washington State is a 4-point underdog to Oregon in a game with a 134.5-point total. While the overall advantage lies with Oregon, Washington State has one exploitable matchup against the Ducks’ frontcourt. Oregon ranks 223rd in interior defense and 227th in rebounding due to their limited size. Meanwhile, Washington State’s Mouhamed Gueye has played 36, 29 and 33 minutes in their last three games. In that span, Gueye has also contributed a 12.2% shot rate, 24.4% rebound rate and 3.6% assist rate. Gueye’s biggest concern is foul trouble, which he battles often. However, without the foul trouble, he has upside to play nearly every minute here.

Darin Green ($5,600) — Another team with a solid implied team total, UCF is a 7.5-point favorite over Tulsa in a game with a 139.5-point total. While Darius Perry and Brandon Mahan get most of the recognition for this team, Darin Green has been playing well and offers some salary relief. Over UCF’s last three games, Green has played 37, 27 and 29 minutes. In that span, he has a 20.3% shot rate, 10.3% rebound rate and 8.3% assist rate. While Perry in particular offers more security across the statistical categories, he is also nearly $2,000 more expensive. In UCF’s most recent game, Green scored 17 points on 15 field goal attempts, while adding solid peripheral upside. With the team total north of 70, Green makes sense across roster constructions.

CBB Value Picks Today

Cheikh Mbacke Diong ($4,900) — UCF somewhat narrowed their rotation of late. Bringing more minute security than earlier this season, Cheikh Mbacke Diong has now played 32, 25 and 31 minutes in three straight games for UCF. While he has not always been the most involved, he has contributed a 10.4% shot rate, 22.4% rebound rate and 11.1% assist rate over UCF’s last three. More importantly, Tulsa ranks 238th in interior defense and 287th in rebounding, setting up Diong for one of the top matchups on the floor.

Anthony Pritchard ($4,600) — Similar to UCF, Tulsa has also narrowed their rotation a bit. On particular beneficiary is Anthony Pritchard. Pritchard has now played 33, 23 and 15 minutes in Tulsa’s last three games. He is mostly a peripheral player, but he has a 47.2% assist rate in Tulsa’s last three games and his shot rate and rebound rate have both increased alongside the minutes as well. Tulsa has varied their rotation at times this year, so Pritchard’s minutes are not secure. However, seeing Pritchard play 33 in Tulsa’s most recent game gives him enough upside to target as a GPP pivot in the value range.

Trey Alexander ($4,500) — Perhaps the top value play on the entire slate, Trey Alexander stepped up to play 37 minutes in Creighton’s most recent game without Kaluma. Playing 24 and 25 minutes in the two games prior as well, Alexander has already provided a strong rotational presence for Creighton this year. Now playing in an elevated role, Alexander should again be a strong value piece. In his elevated role, Alexander scored 7 point on eight field goals while adding six assists. With room for growth here, Alexander is a strong play against Georgetown.

Selton Miguel ($3,400) — For those looking at pure punt plays, Kansas State’s Selton Miguel fits the mold. After a multi-game absence, Miguel returned in Kansas State’s most recent game to play 22 minutes. Even with limited game action this season, Miguel still has a shot rate, rebound rate and assist rate north of 10%. With upside for additional minutes here, Miguel actually provides some safety for a player narrowly priced above the minimum threshold.
