March Madness CBB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Basketball

Stud CBB Picks Today

Trayce Jackson-Davis ($9,200) — An interesting slate that combines the play-in games for the NCAA Tournament and the NIT, tonight’s slate features Indiana vs. Wyoming. Indiana is a four-point favorite in a game with a 132.5-point total, opening Trayce Jackson-Davis as a stud to target. Jackson-Davis has now played 38, 36 and 36 minutes in Indiana’s last three games, contributing a 29.1% shot rate, 26.9% rebound rate and a 12.5% assist rate. Wyoming has a strong interior presence themselves, but Jackson-Davis has shown the ability to best even the best big men in the Big Ten. This slate has a ton of studs and Hunter Maldonado and Graham Ike are also in play on the other side. Ike has a 26.5% shot rate and 26.5% rebound rate over Wyoming’s last three games.

Isiaih Mosley ($8,500) — An interesting pivot off the Wyoming vs. Indiana game, Missouri State is a six-point underdog to Oklahoma in a game with a 138.5-point total in the NIT. This actually gives Missouri State a better implied team total than Wyoming, making Isiaih Mosley an interesting target. Mosley has played 45, 39 and 31 minutes in Missouri State’s last three games, with a 28% shot rate, 19.8% rebound rate and 38.7% assist rate. Even against Oklahoma’s 61st ranked defense, Mosley looks like an interesting GPP pivot.

Paul Scruggs ($7,100) — Playing against Cleveland State in the NIT, Xavier is a 12-point favorite in a game with a 146-point total. This gives Xavier a slate-leading 79-point implied team total. Xavier narrowed their minutes with the hopes of making the NCAA Tournament, but they ultimately fell short. Of the starters, Paul Scruggs looks like the best price-adjusted play after playing 38, 28 and 28 minutes in Xavier’s last three games. While Scruggs’ rates have fallen a bit of late, he leads the team with a 16% usage rate on the season. Ultimately, Jack Nunge and Colby Jones have handled more usage of late, but they are also more expensive. Zach Freemantle could also be an option for this offense with Xavier’s enormous implied team total. While Scruggs remains the best value, taking any of the Xavier starters is viable here.

Quenton Jackson ($7,000) — Outside of Xavier, Texas A&M has the second-highest implied team total as a 20.5-point favorite over Alcorn State in a game with a 137-point total. While SEC Cinderella Texas A&M did not make the tournament, they should beat up on Alcorn State’s 179th ranked defense here. Leading the group, Quenton Jackson has played 36, 33 and 22 minutes for the Aggies in their last three games. In this span, he has an 18.3% shot rate, 9.3% rebound rate and 31.4% assist rate. Unlike the other studs, he actually provides a bit of saving as well. With Texas A&M’s elite team total, taking Jackson, Henry Coleman or Tyrece Radford looks like a solid idea here. Overall, Jackson brings the best projection.

Mid-Range CBB Picks Today

Umoja Gibson ($6,000) — On the other side of the Missouri State game, Oklahoma continues to play a tight rotation after the injury to Elijah Harkless. One of the main beneficiaries has been Umoja Gibson. Gibson has now played 36, 34 and 35 minutes in Oklahoma’s last three games. In that span, he accounts for a 24% shot rate and 11.1% assist rate. With one of the higher implied team totals on the slate, locking in the minutes here provides a solid floor on tonight’s slate.

D’Moi Hodge ($5,500) — Top seed in the Horizon League, Cleveland State fell just short of the NCAA Tournament. Cleveland State typically runs a wider rotation than most teams, but D’Moi Hodge still pops as a value play. Hodge leads the team with an 18.6% usage rate. While he has only played 29, 31 and 27 minutes in Cleveland State’s last three games, he has contributed a 17.3% shot rate and 15.2% assist rate. With a 67-point implied team total, Cleveland State still has more upside than multiple other teams on this slate. Xavier’s 101st ranked defense does not scare anyone either.

Bryson Etienne ($5,000) — The second play-in game on the Tuesday slate, Texas Southern is a 3.5-point favorite over Texas A&M Corpus Christi in a game with a 136-point total. Both teams play a wide rotation, but the lower level of play makes them hard to price for the DFS providers. This means a couple of value pieces can be targeted for both teams. For Texas Southern, Bryson Etienne stands out after playing 32, 28 and 33 minutes in their last three games. Etienne leads the team with a 17.3% usage rate, highlighted by his 20.1% shot rate, 11.7% rebound rate and 26.5% assist rate in Texas Southern’s last three games.

Etienne was one of the top CBB DFS picks today showing up in our CBB optimizer when running optimal lineups. Check out all of the rest of our FREE 2022 March Madness CBB DFS picks in our DraftKings NCAA Tournament CBB Cheat Sheet and FanDuel NCAA Tournament CBB Cheat Sheet.

CBB Value Picks Today

PJ Henry ($4,100) — For those looking at even cheaper plays in the Texas Southern offense, PJ Henry finds himself slightly above the minimum pricing threshold. Again, Texas Southern plays a wide rotation, but Henry has played 24, 27 and 29 minutes over the last three games. In that time, he has a 20.7% shot rate and a 12.6% rebound rate. Corpus Christi ranks 208th in interior defense, allowing Henry the opportunity to produce here.

Deante Johnson ($4,000) — Another potential value play comes from Cleveland State in Deante Johnson. Johnson has played 16, 38 and 35 minutes over the last three games with an 11.6% shot rate, 29.4% rebound rate and 8.7% assist rate. While the 16 minute game in Cleveland State’s most recent contest is concerning, Johnson has shown upside for 30+ minute games on multiple occasions. At such a cheap price tag, this upside is too good to pass up.

Jacob Groves ($4,000) — As mentioned above, Oklahoma has been forced to narrow their minutes. Outside of the typical rotation, Jacob Groves has also seen an increased role. Groves has now played 26, 31 and 26 minutes over Oklahoma’s last three games. In those contests, Groves has a 10.4% shot rate, 24.2% rebound rate and 11.1% assist rate. At a cheap price, Groves can take advantage of Missouri State’s 152nd ranked defense.
