March Madness CBB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Basketball

Stud CBB Picks Today

Colin Castleton ($9,000) — Tonight’s CBB DFS slate features a multitude of stud options in solid game environments. Leading the group is Florida’s Colin Castleton. The Gators are 6.5-point favorites over Iona in a game with a solid 145-point total overall. Narrowly missing the NCAA Tournament, Castleton played 41, 36 and 32 minutes in Florida’s last three games. Castleton also contributed a 24.7% shot rate, 29.4% rebound rate and 10.5% assist rate with the entire offense flowing through him. It should be noted that Castleton battled injury down the stretch. However, a healthy Castleton makes for an excellent play here.

Peter Kiss ($8,900) — While the Notre Dame vs. Rutgers play-in game leaves much to be desired, Wright State vs. Bryant looks like an absolute banger. Wright State is a 3.5-point favorite over Bryant here in a game with a 154.5-point total. However, Bryant has two elite scorers in Charles Pride and Peter Kiss. In particular, Kiss has maximized his elite 24.3% usage rate by playing 38, 40 and 39 minutes in Bryant’s last three games. Wright State ranks 226th in defensive efficiency, potentially allowing Kiss to again maximize his usage. Kiss already has an absurd 37.4% shot rate, 13.2% rebound rate and 39.3% assist rate in Bryant’s last three games.

Kendric Davis ($8,400) — Another elite team total on tonight’s slate, SMU is a 15.5-point favorite over Nicholls State in a game with a 153-point total. An NCAA Tournament snub, SMU will function through their alpha scorer Kendric Davis. A bit cheaper than usual, Davis has played 40, 38 and 37 minutes in SMU’s last three games, maximizing his 20.5% usage rate. In that span, Davis has a 26.6% shot rate and a 24.4% assist rate. Nicholls ranks 169th in defensive efficiency and the fast-paced game environment makes Davis one of the safer studs on the slate. For those looking at contrarian studs, Pride, Alondes Williams, Jake LaRavia, Ron Harper, Ryan Rollins, Ty Gordon and DaRon Holmes could make sense in various builds.

Mid-Range CBB Picks Today

Tanner Holden ($6,900) — For Wright State, a couple of options are in play against Bryant. Grant Basile is the most expensive, but Tanner Holden actually has the highest usage rate at 18.7%. Holden has played 39, 36 and 37 minutes in Wright State’s last three games, contributing a 22.2% shot rate, 25.3% rebound rate and 6.8% assist rate. Basile’s numbers have been slightly better in that stretch of time, but both options are solid here in a high-scoring game environment.

Nelly Junior Joseph ($5,800) — On the other side of the Florida game, Iona brings a 69.25-point implied team total as a slight underdog here. Among the studs for Iona, Nelly Junior Joseph stands out after playing 33, 32 and 34 minutes in three straight games. Much cheaper than Tyson Jolly, Joseph has actually contributed a 15.5% shot rate, 26% rebound rate and 13.5% assist rate in the last three games. With other studs to prioritize, forgoing Jolly in favor of Joseph makes sense from a cost perspective.

Ra’Heim Moss ($5,700) — While Rollins does not quite make the cut for today’s piece, Toledo still has a strong game environment tonight. Overall, the Rockets are one-point favorites over Dayton in a game with a 144-point total. Toledo plays a tight distribution of minutes, making most of the starters attractive plays. The cheapest of the bunch is Ra’Heim Moss. Still, Moss has played 35, 38 and 31 minutes in each of Toledo’s last three games. Mainly a peripheral player, Moss has a 12.5% shot rate, 22.8% rebound rate and 28.9% assist rate within that span. As it stands, he is the best price-adjusted play on the team outside of Rollins.

CBB Value Picks Today

Trey Calvin ($4,900) — For those looking at cheaper attachments to the elite Wright State vs. Bryant game environment, Wright State provides a few value options. In particular, Trey Calvin looks enticing. Calvin has maximized his 16.4% usage rate with 40, 36 and 38 minutes in Wright State’s last three games. In that span, he has a 23.4% shot rate, 11.6% rebound rate and 34.1% assist rate. He should be over 70% owned in this spot, so pivots to the more contrarian Tim Finke in the same offense could make sense.

Ryghe Lyons ($4,600) — On the other side of the SMU game, Nicholls State still has a 68.75-point implied team total, despite coming in as 15.5-point underdogs. Nicholls State also plays a tight distribution of minutes between six players. The cheapest of the bunch is Ryghe Lyons. Lyons has the worst usage rate of the group, but he has played 31, 18 and 30 minutes over Nicholls’ last three games. On the year, he has a steady 9.5% shot rate, 11.2% rebound rate and 11.6% assist rate. Lyons does not have the ceiling of the other value plays, but his consistent minutes make him a safe play.

RJ Blakney ($3,900) — A likely NCAA Tournament team if stud Malachi Smith does not get hurt, Dayton could again be without their stud. That means additional minutes could trickle down to the ancillary players in this offense. In particular, R.J. Blakney looks like a potential punt play worth targeting. He has now played 23, 33 and 27 minutes in Dayton’s last three games, contributing an 11.6% shot rate, 9.9% rebound rate and 9.3% assist rate. Kobe Elvis actually took on much more usage without Smith, but he comes in more expensive at $4,600. For those that can afford Elvis, he has an 18.7% shot rate and 30.2% assist rate in Dayton’s last three games.
