CFB DFS Picks: Bowl Weekend 2 for DraftKings FanDuel Daily Fantasy Lineups

There may be more games on future CFB DFS slates, but this Saturday is the one we have all been waiting for. We have four games on the schedule with two early games to get us started followed by the College Football Playoff. Each game has some star power to it and the two playoff games are as good as we can find. We have premier options at every position and you are going to love the look of these lineups with all the talent on the field.

This article is going to highlight some of the big names on the CFB DFS slate and break down some of the things to watch as we get another Saturday  kicked off. Make sure to also check out the Saturday Betting Breakdown article which breaks down a few games in depth and also talks about a few betting lines that are worth looking into.

** Make sure to monitor news close to lock as a lot of news can break late in CFB. Sometimes there is nothing we can do, but many other times you will be at an advantage if you can swap off someone late when others miss the news **

Quarterback

Joe Burrow, LSU – 8.8k DraftKings, 10.5k FanDuel

Burrow came into this year as a question mark and people wondered if he would hold his team back. Fast forward and now he seems like the lock No. 1 pick in next year’s draft and leads an offense that is scoring 46 points per game, third best in the country. I, like many, have always said if LSU could ever find an offense it would be game over as they are always stout defensively and this is the team that many feared. With lead running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire questionable with a hamstring injury, we have Burrow ready to carry even more of the production for this offense when they take on Oklahoma.

Oklahoma to have any chance has to win upfront, and LSU sports one of, if not the best O-line in the country. Burrow has a 48 touchdowns against just six interceptions on the year and I don’t think the Sooners will have any answers. Add in the fact the Oklahoma has a few guys suspended and a key safety out with a broken collarbone and the task is even tougher in this playoff matchup. Burrow is the most expensive player on the schedule, but he is easily the first guy to click in and build around on this slate.

Also Considering – Brady White

Running Backs

Breece Hall, Iowa State – 6.4k DraftKings, 8.1k FanDuel

Hall has been a guy on several CFB DFS slates this year, so many people should be familiar with him and this Iowa State football team. Hall is a freshman who emerged mid-year and now has his sights set on a 1,000-yard season. He is perpetually around 20 touches per game and draws a decent matchup against a Notre Dame front that isn’t overly tough against the run. Iowa State comes into the game as a 3.5-point underdog with a total at 53.5.

This game may not have the shootout potential of some others, but that doesn’t mean it can’t produce quality outputs. Another positive for Hall is he can give you some cheap production through the air with a handful of catches in each game, which helps to raise the floor. As much as I would love to pay up for guys like Travis Etienne or J.K. Dobbins, they both face each other’s top-ranked defensive lines and I’ll take the savings at running back on this slate.

Kennedy Brooks, Oklahoma – 5.4k DraftKings, 7.4k FanDuel

Oklahoma has their backup running back suspended for this game and that probably means an even bigger workload for Brooks. He clearly isn’t the focal point on a team with Jalen Hurts and CeeDee Lamb, but he is an integral piece of the offense. In the past five games, Brooks’ lowest touch count was 19 and it feels like 20-plus touches will once again be in play.

Matchup-wise, LSU isn’t ideal, but at the same time, it is not as bad as you might think when hearing LSU defense. This isn’t a great version of the Tigers and they have been gashed on the ground by a handful of teams, including some average-at-best ones like Ole Miss. The over/under is north of 75 and although LSU will hang a ton of points, the Sooners will also be effective in moving the ball. This is going to be an up-and-down game and anytime we can get exposure to a key piece of either offense for a middling CFB DFS price tag, it’s a spot to buy.

Wide Receivers

Justin Jefferson, LSU – 6k DraftKings, 8.6k FanDuel

Burrow with these wide receivers will be a popular stack, but it is hard to get away from it. Clyde Edwards-Helaire may not play  but regardless, the passing offense has torched every secondary they have faced this season. Ja’Marr Chase is also firmly in play, but to me, he and Jefferson are close enough in production where I will take the savings on some lineups. Jefferson has five touchdowns over the last four games including one in the SEC Championship against Georgia. Getting exposure to LSU is certainly a priority and Jefferson is an easy way to do that.

Damonte Coxie, Memphis – 5.5k DraftKings, 8.2k FanDuel

Not a playoff game, but this matchup between Penn State and Memphis in the Cotton Bowl is a fantastic matchup. The Nittany Lions are a touchdown favorite with a total sitting at 60 points, so it should produce some fantasy value. One big thing is that Memphis is down a head coach after he left for Florida State, so it remains to be seen if that will affect this offense. Still, Memphis has a ton of weapons starting with Brady White at quarterback and guys like Coxie on the outside. With so many options, the ball can be spread around at time, but Coxie finished the season on a tear and that should continue here.

Coxie comes into this matchup off a successful 2019 season with 68 catches for 1144 and nine touchdowns and most of that damage came towards the end of the season. He has six touchdowns over his last five games and crossed the 100-yard threshold in two straight contests. Penn State is a decent passing defense, but on a slate like this with elite teams, they are probably the weakest of the bunch. This price tag is more than reasonable and will allow us to pay up for the super premier players on the CFB DFS slate without truly punting the position.

Also Considering – K.J. Hamler
