Week 11 is here and we are dealing with an 11 game slate on DraftKings. FanDuel includes some of the night games so you will have some extra options available if you are playing over there. This week has some of the biggest games of the entire season so we have plenty of big names and Heisman contenders to choose from. Let’s get into some CFB DFS picks for Week 11.

This article is going to highlight some of the big names on the slate and breakdown some of the things to watch as we get another Saturday  kicked off. Make sure to also check out the Saturday Betting breakdown article which breaks down a few games in depth and also talks about a few betting lines that are worth looking into.

** Make sure to monitor news close to lock as a lot of news can break late in CFB. Sometimes there is nothing we can do, but many other times you will be at an advantage if you can swap off someone late when others miss the news **

Quarterback

Jamie Newman, Wake Forest – 8.4k DraftKings, 10.4k FanDuel

We have every top end QB you could ask for on this slate and that should really spread out this ownership. Justin Fields certainly makes sense at the top, but Ohio State is a 43 point favorite which certainly means they will have this game in hand immediately. I doubt we see Fields doing much and that limits the ceiling in this spot.

On the flip side Wake Forest is just a 2 point favorite on the road in Virginia Tech so Newman should be busy early and often in this one. He is a major rushing threat, particularly around the goal line where he can pound the ball in and that is one of the biggest pluses any QB can have. He also plays on a Wake Forest team that loves to play fast so this is a great situation each and every week. Virginia Tech is struggling this year when it comes to defending the pass as they sit at 118th in the country in passing yards allowed. With this matchup Newman is my preferred choice in a week where you could make the case for almost anyone up top.

Holden Ahlers, East Carolina – 6.7k DraftKings, FanDuel N/A

East Carolina was a team that I was high on coming into this season, and Ahlers was the reason. It hasn’t worked out on any front as this team is awful and Ahlers hasn’t had the season I imagined throwing for just 11 TD’s so far. Same goes for his rushing abilities which have been curtailed due to the new offensive scheme. However last week showed just what can happen when Ahlers gets going as he threw for a mind boggling 535 yards and 4 TDs in the loss at Cincinnati. He hasn’t had those type of monster performances this year, but clearly he showed the ceiling is still there with the right game script.

This week he travels to SMU who just got torched by Memphis’ offense in a wild game last week. Now East Carolina isn’t the quality of Memphis, but they should be once again trying to play catchup and that makes Ahlers interesting. Even though he isn’t running to the best of his abilities he still gives you some rushing upside and combine that with what could be another 40+ passing attempts and we have a spot to target this week.

Also Considering – Jalen Hurts (FanDuel)

Running Backs

Eno Benjamin, Arizona State – 6.8k DraftKings, 8.8k FanDuel

There are a lot of big names on this slate, which is why we see Benjamin priced down, but the price certainly still caught my eye. Benjamin is a do it all type back who is going to be involved regardless of game script. He has several game scripts where 30+ touches is in play and when you have that type of potential volume its hard to ignore.

Its been disappointing to see Benjamin not contribute as much in the passing game as he can catch the ball, but he still provided a handful of receptions in each game. He goes up against a USC defense that is banged up and is 88th in the country in rushing yards allowed per attempt. With Arizona State a slight favorite at home I expect Benjamin to be relied on heavily and that alone is enough to justify taking a shot at him with this price tag.

SaRodrick Thompson, Texas Tech – 5.7k DraftKings, 8.4k FanDuel

With the way this slate unfolds its very viable to pay up twice at RB so you may not need to even dip into the mid ranges. If you do try and save a bit then Thompson is worth a look as he should have full command of this Tech backfield. Fellow RB Armand Shyne is out for the year and that’s a handful of carries that should now be allocated to Thompson. He already was getting major work registering 10+ carries in five straight games with two 20+ volume days on the ground. Matchup wise West Virginia isn’t a terrible defense, but also isn’t anything we need to be concerned about. Fire up Thompson in a spot where he should be asked to do that much more and if Tech leans on this rushing attack he could have a huge week.

Wide Receivers

James Proche, SMU – 7.3k DraftKings, FanDuel N/A

We also have the option of getting Jerry Jeudy at maybe the lowest price we will ever see him at. That is something to consider, but if you have the money take a look at James Proche from SMU. This is a guy who is quietly one of the best wide receivers in the country, and he should once again put up huge numbers this week.

Last week against Memphis Proche did everything he could to keep the Mustangs in the game and finished with 13/149/1 despite being banged up. Memphis had no answers for him and now East Carolina gets their change to slow him down. That’s not going to happen and with SMU a 3 TD favorite in a game with an O/U north of 70 this is one we need to make sure we get exposure to.

C.J Johnson, East Carolina – 5.5k DraftKings, FanDuel N/A

Similar to Ahlers we saw a coming out party last week with the freshman wide receiver as he put up a video game like line against Cincinnati. Johnson torched the Bearcats secondary for 12/283/1 which equates to one of the best fantasy outputs of the season. I certainly know that won’t be replicated, but a matchup against this SMU defense has me interested. Before the blowup game Johnson had been starting to put it together with 21 catches over the previous three games. He also crossed 100 yards in two of three and clearly he is becoming one of the most reliable targets on the outside. With East Carolina a sizeable underdog this entire Pirates passing attack should be busy and he makes a logical pairing with Ahlers this week.
