College Football Betting: CFB Odds + Best Bets | Indiana at Wisconsin
Indiana +14 (DraftKings)
The 2020 college football season is winding down, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have marquee matchups that will determine who could get into the College Football Playoff. There are obviously a ton of teams have been impacted by COVID, with certain programs having played 10 games while others are only three or four games into their season. Still, we have another full Saturday card of games, which gives us a ton of options in the betting market.
The game that I am drawn to most takes us to the Big Ten, and specifically to Madison, Wis., where Indiana is taking on the Badgers. Vegas has this as a 14-point spread in favor of Wisconsin and a total of just 45 point. Indiana has a lone loss on the season to Ohio State but suffered a huge blow with quarterback Michael Penix Jr. tearing an ACL last week. This is why they are two-touchdown underdogs, but I believe all hope isn’t lost for this squad.
Indiana now turns to Jack Tuttle, who transferred in from Utah and was a major recruit coming out of high school. He doesn’t have experience, but the talent is there, and he has multiple weapons on the outside to help ease the nerves. Wisconsin has been stout defensively as they always are, but they’ve only played three times, so we don’t have a ton of data to go off of.

Speaking of Wisconsin, they are 2-1 on the season and coming off an ugly 17-7 loss to Northwestern. Freshman quarterback Graham Mertz has cooled off after a monster debut and will need to play better in this spot against an Indiana team that can move the ball. This is still the same old blueprint for Wisconsin, as they want to run the ball and lean on the defense, even with Mertz flashing some talent under center.
Indiana is not nearly as good defensively as Wisconsin is, but they don’t have to be — their offense has put up 24 or more points in every game this season. If they once again eclipse that mark, I think they will have opportunity to stay in this game and possibly pull a major road upset. With the spread at +14, that’s more than enough for me to buy on Indiana, even with the loss of their leader, as they can still be effective with Tuttle taking over.
