Today’s 8 game early slate and 6 game main slate are a great way to kick off the Memorial Day weekend. I’m going to focus on the the early slate in today’s article. The slate looks like a great one for batters with five teams out of sixteen above 5 projected runs. With that kind of parity on the board, it can be easy to find a great stack that’s going slightly overlooked.
The stack that we project to be the highest owned on both sites is the Texas Rangers at 17% ownership on DK and 18% on FD. Compared to their chance of being the top stack, I prefer taking players from other teams over the Rangers on today’s slate. Same with Kansas City with 13% and 12% ownership and only a 8% chance of being the top stack. Usually it’s hard to efficiently spend all of your salary while making your lineup contrarian enough, so I don’t mind overpaying on a stack like the Brewers or Phillies to be more contrarian on today’s slate.
The stacks that are jumping out at me are the Cardinals on DK, the Rays on FD, and the A’s on both sites. All three of these stacks have a about an average chance of being the top scoring team, and below average ownership. Combined with fair pricing means that you can take these teams without sacrificing too much advantage in overall point projection to differentiate your lineup from the field.
