The Jets took Game-1 of the Western Conference Finals 4-2, but the Golden Knights will look to bounce back in Game-2. Below you’ll find a stack and some skaters that I (Tommienation1) will be targeting tonight in GPPs.
ScoringĀ
The scoring system on FanDuel will essentially be the same outside of no goalie, but you will want (what you think will be) your top scorer to be in your āCaptainā spot where youāll get all of his scoring times 1.5. On DraftKings, Goals (8) and Shots on Goal (2) are weighted more than they are in the traditional scoring, but the faceoff bonus (0.2) is a little bit of a game-changer, making centers and guys who take face-offs a little bit more valuable. Winning goalies will (in general) also score very well, which is similar to traditional scoring.
Stack
VGK1: Smith-Karlsson-Marchessault ($29,600 DK/$31,600 FD)
Marchessault and Smith lead the Golden Knights in shot attempts in Game-1 with 7, while VGK1 held their own against WPG1, creating more shot attempts and Scoring Chances than them when they were on the ice together at even-strength. These guys will likely be much less owned than the skaters on the Jets’ top line, but they have just as much or more upside than all of them because of their shot volume and ability to create chances.
Skaters
Dustin Byfuglien ($9,700 DK/$10,000 FD)
Byfuglien has looked fantastic in the playoffs so far, attempting almost 6 shots per game and getting set up regularly on the power-play by the Jets stacked top unit. He should once again flirt with 25 minutes of ice time, which should lead all Jets skaters. As weird as it is to say, at this price, he’s still a pretty safe option as he’s not bashful about shooting, blocks shots, and gets top power-play time, so he correlates well to either of the top two Jets lines.
Nikolaj Ehlers ($6,700 DK/$9,300 FD)
Ehlers and the 2nd Jets’ line should avoid the scary top line for Vegas and instead get softer matchups against the Golden Knights’ depth. Ehlers was held off the scoresheet in Game-1, but he had 5 shot attempts and 2 Scoring Chances (both of which were High Danger) and should be a force again in Game-2. For his situation and talent level, Ehlers is very underpriced on DraftKings, and I’m certainly looking to take advantage.
Shea Theodore ($5,900 DK/$8,300 FD)
Some of the Vegas defensemen should be on your radar tonight if you watched Game-1 of this series. The Jets gave up almost nothing at even-strength in terms of dangerous chances, meaning a lot of the Golden Knights shot attempts came from the point in low-danger areas. Theodore attempted 6 shots and had 3 Scoring Chances in Game-1, and he should be bombing away from deep once again in Game-2. At this price, Theodore just needs a little bit of puck luck to pay off in a huge way.
