ATL (vs. BAL)
Alex Cobb has been one of the best pitchers to target against on the year, and the Orioles continue to roll him out every 5th day, which is great news for DFSers. Cobb continues to allow base runners in bunches, posting a 1.71 WHIP (worst on the slate) and does not have the stuff to get out of jams by missing bats, as his Swinging-Strike rate is just above 6% for the year. Freddie Freeman is the obvious play here, but Markakis, Albies, and Flowers all make for exceptional add-ons for this Braves stacks, which is one of my favorites on the night.
COL (vs. MIA)
The Rockies at home against a fly ball pitcher in Wei Yen Chen already have a monster 6.8 run total, which is by far the largest on the slate. Chen is having trouble getting any righties out as his xFIP is up to 6.50 against them with 5.5 K/9 and 5.5 BB/9, and he’ll have to face plenty of good ones, including DJ LeMahieu, Trevor Story, Ian Desmond and of course, Nolan Arenado. Going up against a fly ball pitcher who struggles with home runs in Coors Field is about as good of a spot as we’ve seen. Even as chalk, the Rockies make for a very tough fade tonight.
CLE (vs. DET)
If you can’t get up to the Coors bats, the Indians make for a pretty nice consolation prize going up against Mike Fiers at home. Fiers is below average against both righties and lefties on the year and is giving up only 17% soft-contact, which is bad news for him against this Cleveland lineup, as every single player in the projected order except 9-hole hitter Rajai Davis is creating over 35% hard-contact against RHP with the top-4 all having .220 ISOs or higher. The bottom of this lineup will provide some nice value, too, as Chisenhall, Alonso, and Kipnis are all under $4K on DraftKings.
