HOU (vs. SD)
We’ve got Tyson Ross as one of the top pitchers to stack against because of his slate-high WHIP (1.84 since start of 2017), 15% K rate, and he is also one of the easiest pitchers to steal on over the last four seasons. The power in this Astros lineup is well-documented, but guys like Springer, Altuve, Reddick, and Gonzalez all get an extra bump up our list today as they are all more than capable of stealing a bag or two. This could be a very short outing for Ross and a great matchup for all Astros bats.
BOS (vs. TB)
The Red Sox should only see a few innings from Andrew Kittredge who just pitched in relief three days ago. He’s given up 40% hard-contact to lefties on the young season, and the Rays’ bullpen hasn’t been much better, posting the 11th-highest WHIP and a 38% hard-contact rate. The weather isn’t ideal in Boston, but the run total over 5 and the fact that many of these Boston bats are hitting the ball very hard makes this one of the top stacks on the day.
