PGA DFS Favorites: $9,000 and Above
- 11 golfers
This week, a stronger field means slightly loose pricing at the top, as Scottie Scheffler is the lowest price an odds favorite has been in a few weeks. With that, and given his form, he will likely come in as one of the highest owned of the slate, along with Justin Thomas. Sam Burns and Will Zalatoris are both back for the seconds straight AT&T Byron Nelson after coming in second and 10th, respectively, last year.
Joaquin Niemann heads up the next batch of golfers and is projected to be owned around 17%, as is Xander Schauffele coming off his most recent win with Patrick Cantlay. The last few golfers with projections over 10% are Jordan Spieth and Hideki Matsuyama. They will both be owned around 10% to 15% this week.
Top Contrarian Fantasy Golf Picks
There are three names this week for gamers to choose from if they are looking for a low-owned “stud.” The lowest owned of the bunch will undoubtedly be Tommy Fleetwood, who is likely to have the worst pricing of the week on DraftKings. He is having a great year with the putter, at least in his PGA Tour starts, but he has not had any other parts of his game follow. He could be under 5% owned. The other two former best friends, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka are both likely to come in right around 10%.
PGA DFS Mid-Range ($8,900-$7,500)
- 24 golfers
Last week at the Wells Fargo Championship, the top end of the board was relatively weak outside of Rory McIlroy, and thus ownership was more concentrated in this price range. This week it flips, as a ton of attention is going to the 11 highest-priced golfers in the field, and only about half of this price range is owned over 10%.
The highest owned of the bunch, with none of them likely getting over 20% owned, are:
- Talor Gooch
- Jhonattan Vegas
- Aaron Wise
- Adam Hadwin
- Seamus Power
- Alex Noren
- Maverick McNealy
- Si Woo Kim
- Marc Leishman
- Brian Harman
All of these golfers have a projection of a least 13% this week. With 24 names in this price range, however, there are still plenty of spots to gain leverage. These next batch of golfers are likely to be owned between 10% and 15%:
- Mito Pereira
- Sebastian Munoz
- Keith Mitchell
This leaves a good handful of names that are projected to be owned under 10%:
- Adam Scott
- Jason Kokrak
- Jason Day
- Cameron Champ
- Lanto Griffin
- Davis Riley
- Matt Kuchar
- Sepp Straka
- Bubba Watson
- K.H. Lee
- Kevin Kisner
Top Contrarian Fantasy Golf Picks
A bunch of names in this list have turned in season-best performances over their last few starts. Lanto Griffin and Cameron Champ both came in sixth in their previous start and came in the top 15 the start before that. Davis Riley has had a few top-five finishes over the last two months. Sepp Straka is having his best year on tour, while K.H. Lee is the defending champion of the event.
Jason Day would be the best play according to Awesemo’s PGA DFS projections, as he has a projected point total of 73.6, the highest of the bunch.

PGA DFS Value Plays ($7,400 and Below)
- 100+ golfers
Of the 120 golfers left in the field, only one will be owned over 10% this week: Patton Kizzire. He ranks as the best value according to Awesemo’s PGA DFS projections, so it is no surprise to see him as the highest-owned golfer under $7,500 this week. Others that should get at least 5% ownership this week include:
- C.T. Pan
- Tom Hoge
- Luke List
- Matthew NeSmith
- Sahith Theegala
That still leaves over 100 golfers that will be owned under 5% this week. A few names that should be of interest include:
- Matthew Wolff
- Mackenzie Hughes
- Christiaan Bezuidenhout
- Aaron Rai
- Danny Willett
Wolff is projected to score the most points among those golfers according to Awesemo’s PGA DFS projections, with a projected score of 66.9 points. Be sure to check out how all of the Awesemo experts are ranking these golfers in the Pro Plays Tool.
