Thrilling golf, amazing shots and head-scratching decisions are behind us now, as the Masters proved to be everything a golf fan would have wanted. Now the PGA Tour returns to focus as they head out to the Islands — Hilton Head to be exact — for one of the great setups of the year at Harbour Town Golf Links, presented by RBC Heritage. While the million-dollar PGA DFS first-place prize isn’t up for grabs this week, $250,000 is plenty of reasons to stay tuned as the PGA Tour season rolls on. As always, we’ll preview the RBC Heritage tournament and go over some of the best fantasy golf picks this week that look good after the initial look.

Facts and Figures
Off the Tee: Much fewer drivers are hit off of the tees at Harbour Town, but that doesn’t make the fairways easier to hit, with driving accuracy coming in as one of the lowest on tour (63.2%).
Approach: The greens are very small at Harbour Town, and with all those fairways missed, greens are easy to miss as well. Just 64% of them were hit in regulation.
Around the Green and Putting: Greens these small are rarely a challenge to these players. And that is the case this week, as Harbour Town greens rank as some of the easiest to scramble and putt
RBC Heritage Tournament History
Typically many golfers take the week off after the Masters, but about half the PGA Tour players that teed it up last week will make the trip to Hilton Head. Over the last four years, no one has been more successful here at Harbor Town than Webb Simpson, who has come in the top 10 three times, won once and has a 16th place mixed in. Patrick Cantlay started off very hot here at Harbour Town, coming in the top seven each of his first three trips, but missed the cut last year after missing the cut at the Masters. As for other top-end players competing this week. Dustin Johnson has teed it up in each of the last four years and has been consistent but not quite good. He’s made the cut in all four appearances but has no top-10s. That’s not the case for Matt Kuchar, who has come in the top 10 four times and has made at least 10 straight cuts dating back to 2012. Since his win in 2014, he’s only finished outside of the top 40 one time, and that was in 2020.
Kevin Streelman starts off a list of other names that have come in the top 10 twice here since 2019. A few other names include Ian Poulter, Shane Lowry, Michael Thompson and J.T. Poston.
A few others to mention include Matthew Fitzpatrick, who has made the cut in each of the last four years here, finished fourth last year and has been clear about how much he loves this golf course, saying it’s his favorite on the entire schedule. Russell Henley, Harold Varner and Maverick McNealy are three name’s that are trending this year. They all came in the top 10 of this event last year, making for good setups here this week.
PGA DFS Golf Rankings & Stats
2022 RBC Heritage PGA DFS Player Preview
The field is rather strong here this week with 25 of the world’s top 50 competing, a very strong showing for the tournament after a major. Other names competing this week that haven’t already been mentioned include Collin Morikawa and Cam Smith. Morikawa is coming off of a very solid Sunday at Augusta had and a good showing here last year, finishing in seventh. Then there’s Smith, who is reeling a bit after losing out on the green jacket and will come here for the sixth straight year, missing the cut in two of the last five years. Jordan Spieth will also come to Harbour Town for the fifth time, making the cut in all his previous appearances, and he will be making his first start in the event after missing the cut at the Masters for the first time.

RBC Heritage: Strokes Gained Review
This tournament was part of the two-win season for Stewart Cink, who used a through-the-bag approach to win at the RBC Last year. He gained at least 1.5 strokes in all four categories while having a career performance with the irons. The course certainly yields to ball strikers, especially with such small greens; there isn’t that much area to trick them up. So strokes gained putting has one of the lowest averages among top-10 finishers of any event due to this.
Averages for Last Year’s Top 10
- Strokes Gained Off the Tee: 0.55
- Strokes Gained on Approach: 1.12
- Strokes Gained Around the Green: 0.35
- Strokes Gained Putting: 0.50
- DFS Points: 97.79
- DFS Ownership: 13.28%
- Average DFS Salary: $8,450
