Minnesota Twins vs. RHP Michael Fulmer – 5.4 implied runs
Fulmer will serve as the de facto starter on Monday and be in line for around 65 pitches. He missed all of the 2019 season recovering from Tommy John surgery, and the club has said they are not going to push him. The strikeouts have been there so far with 17 in his 17.1 innings, but he has allowed six home runs and the nine walks are not helping his cause. The Tigers have an average bullpen, but they have used at least four relievers each of the last three days.
The Twins have been featured countless times in this article series, so you all know the drill. Nelson Cruz, Miguel Sano and Josh Donaldson are the power options. Jorge Polanco and Luis Arraez are the on-base mavens and Byron Buxton and Marwin Gonzalez are the differentiation plays from the bottom third of the order.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. LHP Jordan Montgomery – 4.9 implied runs
Montgomery got the hook after just 39 pitches in his last start allowing two home runs and four runners to cross home plate. He has been more miss than hit, or vice versa since he is a pitcher. In the three games during the 6 o’clock hour, Montgomery will be the best pitcher to target against. RHP Brad Keller is going against Cleveland, but that is looking like a trap. Over 111 batters faced this season, Keller has allowed one extra base hit. For his career he has allowed 22 home runs across 1,403 batters faced for 0.63 HR/9 to lefties and 0.53 HR/9 to righties.
Look to the Blue Jays swinging the stick from the right side of the plate on Monday. Montgomery is allowing a 1.90 HR/9 and a .220 ISO in his last 193 lefty/righty matchups. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Randal Grichuk, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Jonathan Villar will be the core four to target. Danny Jansen will be the punt catcher du jour in the hopes he runs into one.
Late-Slate MLB DFS Picks
San Diego Padres vs. LHP Kyle Freeland – 4.8 implied runs
While Freeland is not a horrible pitcher, the revamped Padres are no easy matchup. The Rockies’ southpaw relies heavily on ground balls for nearly half of everything in play. Unfortunately he allows a lot of hard contact, so anything in the air is a potential home run.
Recent acquisition Austin Nola should be behind the dish, and he is a solid option on sites requiring a backstop. Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado and Wil Myers are the big boppers. Lefties Trent Grisham, Eric Hosmer and Mitch Moreland are all adequate in lefty/lefty matchups, and they provide the differentiation for full stacks.
