Greetings, Gamers! We are back with a dozen-game main slate on your favorite DFS sites.

Similar to last year I will be providing a review of one stack for each of the day’s slates. Some of these short-slate options will be good for the full-game set, others will be more contrarian and better suited for the mini-game sets.

Main-Slate Picks

Philadelphia Phillies vs. RHP Alex Cobb – 5.3 implied runs

It has been a hot minutes since I have recommended the Phillies in this space. Tuesday brings an excellent matchup for them against Cobb. It should be in the mid-80s at first pitch with 70% humidity and a light breeze to center.

Since the beginning of the 2018 season, Cobb has allowed a 2.16 HR/9 rate to same-handed hitters and a 1.38 HR/9 rate to lefties. the nine-year veteran continues to rely on his fastball (48-50%), changeup (30-35%) and curve (17-20%). Bryce Harper is going to be our top priority of course, but do not lose sight of the right-handed power bats. J.T. Realmuto and Rhys Hoskins have .216 ISO and .246 ISO over their last 873 and 1,053 righty/righty matchups.

Most models will also project Didi Gregorius and Jay Bruce as good options and they are coming at a discount. Do not by shy about rolling them out. There are two dozen teams taking the field Tuesday, and there is plenty of room for differentiation.

Coors Field Extravaganza

Arizona Diamondbacks at LHP Kyle Freeland – 5.5 implied runs

Freeland could not have been much worse than he was last year. Over 22 starts in The Show, he allowed a 6.73 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. In the middle of that he was sent down to the minors to “clear his head” and focus on mechanics. Across six starts there he was even worse with an 8.80 ERA. Despite that debacle of a seasons, he still has a career 4.08 ERA and 1.39 WHIP while making Coors Field his home park.

Though it has only been three starts, he has used his changeup 31% of the time, which is triple his previous seasons. Additionally he has upped his slider from 5% to nearly 20% with these new offerings reducing his reliance on his fastball from 55% to 33%. Again, this is a small sample size, but it is at least worth noting so we keep an eye on things.

The Diamondbacks have a plethora of right-handed hitters that we should focus on for Tuesday. Ketel Marte, Starling Marte, Christian Walker, Carson Kelly and Eduardo Escobar all have .200 ISOs against lefties over the last two seasons.

Colorado Rockies vs. RHP Zac Gallen – 5.7 implied runs

With only 18 starts under his belt, it is hard to have a good read on Gallen. So far he has an 11.8 K/9, which is not sustainable, but he did have a 9.0 K/9 in 382 MiLB innings. This game is going to be warm with the weather at first pitch around 90 degrees. It is nice to see Yahoo and DraftKings increasing the salary for most of the key hitters, but we can still get a deal on Yahoo with David Dahl $14 and Nolan Arenado $16. With five of the projected starters on DraftKings ranging from $5,000 to $6,200, sacrifices will need to be made in order to roster a full stack. This should make things very interesting in tournaments.

Late-Slate Picks

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. RHP Garrett Richards – 5.5 implied runs

It is nice to see Richards back in action. Heading into this season he had made just 31 starts over the prior four years after suffering from a variety of maladies. While he has decent control and strikeout upside, no mere mortal can survive the Dodgers lineup regularly.

The Dodgers lead the league in home runs and are top three in essentially every relevant hitting category. Against righties, we should get Joc Pederson at the top of the lineup with his light tower power. Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts and Max Muncy are the next priorities. Add in Corey Seager if he is healthy, and of course do not be shy about using Justin Turner, AJ Pollock and Chris Taylor as well.
