LoL DFS Picks for LCK & LPL DraftKings slates on Friday March 5

We’re just one day away from the LPL starting back up, however tonight is the last night of LCK until they take their usual break days. I’m breaking it all down below for this LoL DFS two game slate.

LCK SERIES

Afreeca Freecs (AF) vs. DRX (DRX)

Liiv Sandbox (LSB) vs. T1 (T1)

LoL DFS Picks: DraftKings LCK Slate Breakdown

AFREECA FREECS

AF on paper appears to be a solid team, and while they’re in the playoff hunt, it’s definitely not guaranteed that they’ll be there come season end. Currently AF is on a three series loss streak, and while it’s not crazy to envision a win here, AF just isn’t consistent enough to expect that. Bang is accomplishing very little this LCK split, and it’s curious as to why AF seems to have a lot of trust, with them not adding another ADC for round two. I’m a fan of playing some AF tonight as DRX tends to not blow teams out, and that does bite them often. Kiin is my guy for AF tonight, and the AF workhorse is capable of scoring well for LoL DFS in any series AF wins.

DRX

The affinity for DRX series to go three games is truly impressive. It’s almost like they just want to maximize the amount of LCK spring split games to better hone their skills for summer. Naturally that’s all speculation, and they probably would prefer to just win series 2-0, but still it’s pretty odd how often their series go the distance. T1 was a more difficult opponent than AF, making it possible they improve upon their week one 2-1 win over AF this time. Unfortunately for LoL DFS players in that week one win, they were out killed by AF 31-26. DRX feels like the side more likely to win here, however it’s possible AF takes a game while being competitive throughout.

LIIV SANDBOX

LSB has a new ADC in Prince. He was a good 2020 player in Challengers Korea, before joining FPX in the offseason, however that stint only lasted a month before LSB came calling with an offer to get him as their ADC. It’s not an easy opener for him, nor the rest of LSB, and realistically they only have a few outs to get any wins at all here. My interest in LSB comes in the form of how not highly owned they are, as super low owned LSB intrigues me a little bit with Prince. I also need to mention OnFleek is once again active, and even though Croco hasn’t been terrible, seeing OnFleek starting wouldn’t be shocking.

T1

With LCK spring split winding down, the most stressful thing about T1 is who will start any given series. For my ease of mind, I’m presuming the same five out from their series with DRX, with Ellim and Zeus being the two players I see most likely being subbed out if any are made. Fortunately for T1 this is a great bounceback spot against an eccentric LSB, however with their eccentric tendencies, T1 could find themselves in weird spots throughout this series. When all is said and done, T1 needs to be winning these types of series 2-0, and if that’s the case here, I’ll like Keria quite a bit.

Favorite LoL DFS pick on the slate:

MID-Faker. I’ll maintain belief that T1 doesn’t finagle their starters too much, and even if they do, I’m not sure T1 is in any rush to continue the Clozer growth experiment in a series they really need to be winning, but still there’s a little risk with almost all of T1 being the second series.

Favorite contrarian LoL DFS pick on the slate:

JNG-Dread. Weirdly this is an interesting JNG matchup. Overall I like Pyosik a lot more, however Dread finds times to put AF ahead, and with the bottom half of the map being not terribly active early game, he’ll need to be the facilitator.
