Two series with two decent-sized favorites, however both challengers are unlikely to go down without a fight, and we’re also fresh off a night where the two dogs showed themselves quite well. Both series are getting a breakdown below, with DraftKings LoL DFS picks for the LCK slate as the cherry on top.
Nongshim RedForce (NS) vs. Hanwha Life Esports (HLE)
Afreeca Freecs (AF) vs. Gen.G (GEN)
LoL DFS Picks: DraftKings LCK Slate Breakdown
Kicking off another LCK slate sees a largely uninteresting LoL DFS team in NS take on a sometimes inconsistent, occasionally LPL lite team in HLE. NS sits near the bottom of the table in kills per game, and even though I’m not in love with their chances overall, this is a two game slate making them firmly considerable, especially with HLE being shaky at times. Rich leads the team in damage share, while also having a potentially easy lane assignment, making him the most desireable NS player should I get to them tonight.
HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS
I find the HLE playstyle peculiar and mesmerizing. They have multiple players that can pop off, they lead the LCK in kills per game, however with their propensity to rely on singular players sometimes too often, their overall kill participation (KP) isn’t great. HLE really needs to be winning these types of series 2-0 to further improve their odds of making playoffs, and while they’re capable of not only dropping a game, but losing the series, I like them tons tonight. LoL DFS wise, HLE is a mixed bag, however Arthur in wins is pretty strong, making him an exciting piece.
It’s possible that the unpredictability of this AF squad lends itself to times in LoL DFS where they get overlooked unnecessarily. Tonight really isn’t a time where they’re going to be overlooked for bad reasons, as GEN is the more well rounded roster, however I’m not against taking shots here if they are projected to be the lowest owned team. Dread is going to need to facilitate AF to manageable mid and late game situations for them to have a shot, and if he’s successful, this likely lends itself to a decent score.
Closing out the slate is GEN, who are rightfully well favored in this spot. GEN is stronger top to bottom, and even though there are rough spots from time to time, it’s difficult to envision many scenarios where they lose this series. Incredibly enough GEN is probably only relevant LoL DFS wise because this is a two game slate instead of a larger one, as 1.9 assists per kill hasn’t proven very ideal too often up to this point. Bdd is an excellent starting option for GEN tonight, as Fly tends to be not lane dominant, and Bdd is more than capable of finding himself in active spots in fights.
Favorite LoL DFS pick on the slate
MID-Chovy. HLE is in a comfortable position tonight and occasionally they’ll set up Chovy well in the draft stage. Even if this doesn’t happen, he’s more than capable of putting up solid LoL DFS scores.
Favorite contrarian LoL DFS pick on the slate
JNG-Dread. It’s possible that AF is less likely to win their series, however from a LoL DFS perspective I like them more on the off chance that they pull off the upset.
