LoL DFS Picks: DraftKings LPL + LCK Slate Breakdown

It’s an incredibly tumultuous start for BRO’s chances at making the LCK playoffs, as HLE presents them a stiff challenge. In the first series, BRO was easily dismantled, and even though that was near the start of the split, HLE also has reasons to put another beatdown in this spot. BRO really needs sloppy HLE to have a shot at the upset tonight, and even though it’s possible, banking on it seems like folly. Hena is my first choice from BRO, although again, might not be getting there tonight.

With seeding still on the line, HLE has no reason to release their foot off the pedal in this late season clash against a team fighting for the last playoff spot. A similar performance to their 2-0 sweep of KT last time out wouldn’t be shocking, although it does need to be noted, if HLE comes out flat, or decides to get cute, dropping a game here, like they did against LSB might not be shocking. HLE is such an easy team to like tonight, and as one of the more comfortable favorites, they’re natural starting points for lineups, with Chovy being one of my preferred options.

RW has no business being competitive tonight, and there’s no logical reason to even consider rostering them in your LoL DFS lineups. This is more than fair, and honestly the only way you can trick yourself into playing RW is the fact that they do still seem to be giving it their all, as well as LNG being fully capable of dropping games to bad teams historically. You’re a much braver person than I if you roster RW tonight, and I wish you luck.

All LNG has to do to secure playoffs is to beat this lowly 1-14 RW squad. Considering all of their wins except one are against teams below them in the standings, LNG shouldn’t have any issues cementing themselves as the gatekeepers of the LPL playoffs. LNG might be less likely to bring the action in this series on their own accord, as the focus should be about securing their playoff spot, but RW often doesn’t care about your plan, while forcing action which makes LNG solid LoL DFS options. Tarzan isn’t quite solo carrying this team, but he’s easily the best player on LNG, and someone I’ll be targeting in LNG stacks tonight.

Where did it all go wrong for a KT squad that once firmly was in a good position to walk into playoffs as a potential sleeping giant? It’s easy to point to the jungler change mid-season as a big reason for their newfound problems, but everyone on KT is plagued with inconsistency, which tends to lend itself to negative results. KT needs to win this series to remain in the playoff hunt, but it’s extremely difficult to trust their form here. I’m not against playing KT tonight, and with them being the second series of the LCK, hopefully it means I won’t need a lot to match the field.

Perhaps surprisingly, NS is showing a tiny bit of better form in their last handful of series. In those last five series, in game wins, they’re averaging 17.3 kills per contest, and motivation shouldn’t be a factor as this is easily the biggest series of the split for them. Early game has been surprisingly solid during this stretch, and they had a shot of taking a game against DWG a couple of series ago. NS is going to look attractive due to their price, and I do like them to take this win here, but I’ll be cautious of getting too much if their ownership balloons.

Finishing off the slate is LGD taking on IG. There’s really not a ton on the line in this series, but that doesn’t mean I’m enthusiastically putting LGD in my LoL DFS lineups. As an underdog team, you can do worse than picking against an up and down IG squad, but one look at the talent discrepancy on these teams suddenly makes that potentially less attractive. Kramer remains an often interesting option from LGD, and if he’s set up for success, LGD might just take down a weird IG squad.

I’d really prefer this to just be an easy spot where IG just rolls up, gets a 2-0, puts up some kills, and strolls out of the arena, but trusting them to use their talent advantage to do that is another story. What it all comes down to for me tonight is just how popular will IG be? A popular IG would have me worried, as if I woke up to them losing the series, that wouldn’t be shocking, nor would a 50+ kill victorious sweep. Overall, I like IG a lot, and even if I roster some LGD, IG is far and away the better side, with Rookie in a spot to be a great LoL DFS option.

Favorite LoL DFS Picks

MID – Rookie. It’s so easy for me to see IG to envision both worlds of IG, but good IG is really attractive, and Rookie is just so good.

MID – Chovy. Typically two expensive mid laners won’t be here, but these two individuals are by far my favorite mid laners tonight and provide great upside for their matchups.

Favorite Contrarian LoL DFS Picks

ADC – Kramer. No I don’t believe LGD wins, but finding an upset on this four game slate is difficult. Kramer matches up against the weak point of IG, so if LGD chooses to get him in favorable positions, it’s possible he puts up a solid performance.
