Featuring most of the LPL teams, the NEST tournament tends to be a showcase of lesser known talent, although a few teams tend to run at full strength. Uncertainty not only comes from players, but also potentially starting lineups which could change from day to day, so keeping an eye out for any news has the potential to give LoL DFS players a nice edge in a sea of unknown. Below is a Day 1 preview with some of the best LoL DFS picks for the slate on DraftKings.
LoL DFS Picks: DraftKings NEST 2021 Day 1 Preview
OH MY GOD
Kicking off NEST 2021 is OMG taking on RW, which features two teams blending a mix of players with LPL experience, and those without. OMG comes in as big favorites here, although in a best of one with rosters that might not have a ton of practice together, they do carry some risk. Wuming is one of those players seemingly too good for LDL, while not shining in the LPL, and if OMG comes out on top, he could be a big piece as someone looking for a role heading into 2022.
RW often finds themselves in interesting game states, with action never lurking too long, so in terms of intriguing underdogs RW is certainly worthy of LoL DFS consideration even with this roster. There is little in the way of guarantees in this tournament, but if RW does come out on top, it is difficult to see icecoKe not being as involved as he was during his LPL stint.
World Champions EDG are giving their main roster a deserved break, but their roster still features some players with LPL pedigree. Hope and xiaoxiang are capable players, and in a spot where EDG are priced like underdogs, EDG’s popularity might be high, even if they are an attractive LoL DFS option tonight.
Here is a spot where UP might be the pay up to be contrarian team, as they are priced like favorites in this spot. UP also features two players in rat and xiaocaobao with LPL experience, but it is yekai if he gets the start that could create openings for UP. One thing to keep an eye on is that UP has multiple positions with subs, so they are a team to pay attention for starting lineups throughout the tournament.
As one of the few teams with their full LPL summer squad playing, they are easy favorites to not only advance, but top the group. There is also a solid possibility that they also carry heavy ownership, as they are also one of the only teams without a listed substitute. From top to bottom, SN is about as safe of a play as LoL DFS players can ask for in a tournament capable of mass uncertainty.
After a dismal showing at Worlds 2021, FPX rolls into NEST 2021 with backups, although three do have LPL experience from this year. FPX is in an unfortunate spot of facing a full strength team, and as such they are likely going to be unpopular, so taking shots on LPL talent like JingYi if he starts, could be rather sneaky on a six game slate.
BLG and LGD are two teams to really monitor this tournament, as both feature at least one substitute, while also fielding an eclectic blend of talent. Coming out victorious won’t be easy here, but if they’re successful, Biubiu will be one of the more interesting top lane LoL DFS options tonight.

Picking a winner for weirdest lineup in NEST 2021 is easy, as LGD is bringing four players with LPL experience, although none with a ton, and two of them are junglers. ZJJ will need to outperform his LDL stats for long term success for LGD, but whichever JNG ends up getting the nod will be the most interesting LoL DFS option here.
Winless in LPL summer split, V5 is fully capable of finding game wins in a group with a lot of uncertainty. By having the V5 name, LoL DFS might be a bit jaded, and as such there’s legitimate potential to be early on a team with enough talent to compete. Pzx is a solid JNG option tonight, but Jerry is a particularly intriguing SUP option after his 2021 LDL performances.
On a large slate like this, there is a chance that the later games get a bit overlooked, and IG has a five man roster with enough intrigue to not sleep on. Xiaojueji is an interesting ADC prospect, and he could get a chance to perform tonight against V5, while laning with Lucas.
Wrapping up the night sees LNG taking on JDG. LNG has seven players listed on their roster, so they are also a team to keep an eye out for starting lineups throughout this tournament, and with that said, LNG is kind of being disrespected by the books here, as this is a winnable game for them. LP is someone to make sure is starting, nonetheless if he is, he is a solid LoL DFS option as the underdog.
JDG has a lot of their LDL roster featured here, and even though LNG poses some challenges, JDG are still favorites for a reason. Xiao17 appears to be a capable JNG, and Such is an interesting ADC option as he is the new piece into this JDG academy team, with both being LoL DFS viable tonight.
ADC – Huanfeng. SN offers up a large amount of safety on what should be a weird, and wild NEST 2021, so finding ways to get there, with huanfeng sitting front and center makes a ton of sense.
Favorite Contrarian Pick
BLG/LGD – Both teams feature a fair amount of their LPL roster from 2021, and both teams finished in the top half of the LPL in kills in summer, which could open the door for the winner here to put up nice LoL DFS scores.
