There are more regular-season LCK slates in League of Legends DFS today. With every playoff-bound team in a giant cluster, there are few chances remaining for teams to better position themselves, such as tonight’s opener, which features to playoff bound teams. Let’s break down the top DraftKings LoL DFS picks for Saturday, Aug. 14.
Damwon Kia (DK) vs. Liiv Sandbox (LSB)
KT Rolster (KT) vs. Afreeca Freecs (AF)
LoL Esports DFS Picks: DraftKings LCK Slate Breakdown
There is a lot of intrigue in this opening series tonight, as each team needs a win to put themselves in a potentially better position for playoffs. On paper, DK are the stronger team, featuring the best jungler in the world in Canyon, alongside ShowMaker. Everywhere else is even at worst for DK, although Ghost might be someone to pay attention to in this series. Opposing support Effort is not shy to force action, and if Ghost and Beryl get an advantage, both could make for great LoL DFS plays.
LSB really dropped the ball by losing to KT last time out, and with this also being their last series of the split, they need this one to possibly get in a better playoff position. Getting top three is beneficial, as while top two get byes to the semifinals, the third seed likely will face AF. Finding advantages will be difficult for LSB, but their play this split has been pretty solid, and if Summit gets going, he could force himself to be a focal point of LSB tonight.

Somehow KT came back from losing game one to top of the table LSB, before reverse sweeping them last time out. While their playoff dreams are nil, this is the last hurrah for KT this year, and there’s no reason to believe they won’t be going all out once again. Blank may not be a high ceiling prospect anymore, even if he is still relatively young, but one thing is certain, KT plays better with him at the helm, and due to the uncertainty of his starting role, could make for an interesting ownership play for those brave enough to risk it.
After showing complete dominance over top of the table NS, and HLE, the most AF thing to do would be to drop this series against KT. Of course, looking at it logically, this should not happen, and the momentum from said series could very well carry over to this one, making for another simple 2-0. Leo gets another chance to shine tonight against likely 5kid, and since he’s shown himself as someone worthy of pumping resources to in game, if that happens again, tonight could be another great LoL DFS performance.
ADC – Leo. Recently Leo has had some big LoL DFS scores, and tonight he is presented with a beatable opponent. 10+ kill games may be a little ambitious, but the ADC has one in each of the last two series wins for AF.
Favorite Contrarian Pick
JNG – Croco. Targeting the jungler opposite of Canyon is probably a bit bold, but that likely makes him a more unattractive LoL DFS option for the masses, nonetheless this is a winnable series for LSB, and it’s not like Croco has been underperforming this split.
