LoL Esports DFS Picks: DraftKings LPL + LCK Breakdown
Despite losing 0-2 to OMG last time out, neither game was a massive blowout, on top of UP firmly having a shot to win game two. Tonight, UP is an intriguing LoL DFS team, as even though they are properly not favored, they can win, and as an LPL series where both teams are in the top half of deaths per game, one could do worse than taking shots on players like xiaocaobao.
Exiting off a key win against LNG, WE receives a softer opponent in the form of UP, although they have won two of their last three series, with one also coming against LNG. Beishang will be an important piece of WE’s early game, as well as providing plenty of LoL DFS value, as he leads the team with a 73.6% kill participation (KP.)
With LCK starting on Thursdays now, it has been a little bit since GEN was last on the rift in their 2-0 win over DRX, and while HLE provides a stiffer test, GEN is still firmly the favorite. While no player on GEN has over a 70% KP, on top of five of their eight series wins going the distance, it is difficult to be enamored with GEN from a LoL DFS perspective, even if HLE is near the top of the LCK in deaths per game.
HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS
Speaking of teams with a long layoff, it has been a week since HLE dropped their last series to DK, but prior to that, they were on a three series win streak. In their first meeting, HLE got swept by GEN, and even though GEN often goes the distance, HLE is a difficult buy in the LoL DFS world, with Chovy providing a unique option for those bold enough.
It is a long shot, but RW is showing enough recently to not immediately fully write them off in this series. Xiaohao is a legitimate talent, and even though RW are sizable underdogs, with a team full of players with at least a 63.1% KP, the world which they pull off the upset could be very fruitful for LoL DFS.
Dropping two of their last series might show some cracks in RA’s armor, although both losses were to good teams, of which RW really does not qualify as yet. RA tends to be a more methodical team, as they are in the bottom half of the LPL in kills per game with 12.9 per game, but for LoL DFS purposes tonight, they are still a safe enough bet to 2-0, with FoFo being a potential standout.

Up and down, and up and down, thus is the cycle of T1. When T1 is proactive early, they are capable of looking like a strong team, capable of beating everyone, whereas if they sit on their thumbs, they are still talented, although they allow worse teams to challenge them. Facing off against DK is a difficult test, but one that can prove fruitful for LoL DFS, if the right T1 shows up.
Not often does one of the better teams in the LCK die 31 times in a game. That was the case in their 1-2 loss to a surprising NS squad, and tonight brings DK another tough out. DK has all the tools to win this series, and if they get it done, ShowMaker should provide a solid backbone for LoL DFS success as well.
Scoring a 2-0 over a quietly solid BLG squad is a good rebound from the SN loss, and tonight presents TES another opportunity against another capable team. If this is a hotly contested series between two really solid LPL teams, neither side might be LoL DFS relevant, but, both teams are in the top three of the LPL in kills per game, so a sweep from either side could be beneficial.
Rather quietly, FPX sits in second place in the LPL currently, but tonight is an incredibly difficult task, but one that is winnable. Finding success early in the game will be key for FPX, even if it means not being too much gold, as FPX as a team is capable of finding successful team fights at any point in the game. Nuguri is up against rookie Qingtian tonight, and in terms of positive lane matchups for FPX, this is one that makes sense to try and snowball, which could make Nuguri a valuable LoL DFS option if FPX comes out on top.
MID – FoFo. Clearly RA has the easiest path to a 2-0 victory tonight, which makes RA relatively safe LoL DFS options. If they are too popular, it is not a bad idea to diversify a little bit more, but it is hard to go wrong with RA tonight.
Favorite Contrarian Pick
ADC – SmLz. Naturally there is a bit of risk baked in here, but getting to a little bit of UP tonight is an attractive option, with WE not being the most consistent squad, on top of UP playing better recently.
