This is as much of a play against James Shields as it is a play for Rougned Odor. Odor has shown success against righties in his career, while sporting a Steamer projected ISO of .210. Shields struggled with the long ball in 2017, so I’m taking a shot on a second baseman with real power at a bargain price.
Hanley Ramirez
FD: $4100
DK: $4100
Hanley looks like a better play on DraftKings, as his price on FanDuel is a bit inflated, but I’m still getting a ton of Hanley on both sites. The Red Sox implied total is driving quite a bit of this projection. As of right now, the Red Sox have the highest implied total on the slate. You can make a case for a few Red Sox, but I think Hanley is the best combo of upside and price.
Anthony Rizzo
FD: $4300
DK: $4800
Last night was rough for Anthony Rizzo. I grabbed him as a Spotlight Hitter after Zobrist was scratched from the lineup. I’m going back to the well one more time tonight. While I like Mike Soroka, he’s still just a rookie that relies more on mixing up his pitches than he does on straight stuff. Rizzo gets the benefit of the LHH/RHP matchup, with a relatively cheap price for a slugger with his pedigree.
