DraftKings Best Ball: Top Stacks to Pull off, Based on ADP

Stacking is HUGELY important when you’re trying to win a DraftKings Best Ball tournament. Think of every week of the playoffs as a singular DFS tournament — the more correlation you have in your lineup, the more likely you are to win. However, some stacks are near impossible to pull off (Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, for example), while others are difficult based off a condensed average draft position.

Tired of the industry consensus and of the hot take machine? How about a data driven approach for a change? The world’s No. 1 daily fantasy player has put his projections talents to work, creating Awesemo’s first ever Fantasy Football Draft Kit. In it, users will receive access to:

DraftKings Best Ball Stack #1: Lamar JacksonMark AndrewsMarquise Brown and/or Miles Boykin

In DFS circles, it is common practice to not stack as much with run-first quarterbacks — for obvious reasons. So if you’re firing up a Lamar Jackson stack, it is perfectly acceptable to just grab one of his targets, with Mark Andrews being far and away the preferred option. Andrews is actually slipping from his current ADP. He’s often available a round later than where he’s projected to go. You can get Jackson at the beginning to mid-second round and then snag Andrews on the way back in the third round, or if you want to risk it, he just might be available in the fourth. I just completed a draft with the second overall pick where I grabbed Jackson at the end of round 2. The prudent thing to do would have been to grab Andrews right away, but Chris Godwin was there. Andrews still fell to my pick in round 4. It won’t always work out, but when it does, your team is that much stronger — and in the end, the goal is to create the strongest team possible. You will also likely need to reach on Marquise Brown in the fifth round to complete the stack.

Ideal draft slot for stack: Picks 2-5

DraftKings Best Ball Stack #2: Atlanta Falcons: Matt RyanJulio JonesCalvin Ridley

We haven’t seen Julio Jones this far down in drafts in maybe a decade. He’s currently towards the end of the second round with an ADP of 19. This is actually the easiest high-end stack to pull off because you simply need Jones to fall to you in the second round, and then you can grab Calvin Ridley in the early third (38 ADP). Matt Ryan is going in the late 80s, so just watch how the draft is unfolding and reach a round early. If you want to add Hayden Hurst for the onslaught, grab him the round after you get Ryan.

Ideal draft slot for stack: Picks 7-10

DraftKings Best Ball Stack #3: Seattle Seahawks: Russell WilsonD.K. MetcalfTyler Lockett

This is a slightly riskier DraftKings best ball stack in that if you have the right position to grab D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett close to each other, you won’t draft again until right around Russell Wilson‘s ADP (67). The receivers are easy to grab if you have a pick right at the end of the round. At end of the third grab Metcalf, at the beginning off the fourth take a slight reach on Lockett, and then hope that  Wilson falls to the fifth. There’s about a 70% chance Wilson will be there when it’s your turn to draft again.

Ideal draft slot for stack: Picks 9-12

DraftKings Best Ball Stack #4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tom BradyChris GodwinMike Evans

This is a slightly more difficult stack to pull off during DraftKings best ball drafts. First you need the exact right draft position in the early-ish part of the draft. Take your preferred running back or Michael Thomas in round 1 (picks 1-5), then wait on Godwin in round 2 (ADP 24) and Mike Evans in round 3 (29 ADP). The odds are very high that if you grab Godwin at 22-24, Evans will be there on the way back. The only danger here is if you’re drafting with some numpty Patriots fan who wants Tom Brady on their roster and reaches four rounds early. This happens more than you think. You’re far more likely to see some novice fanboy reach for Brady than, say, a Carson Wentz, so perhaps take Brady earlier than you should — you don’t want to commit your second- and third-round picks to an unsuccessful stack. Grab Brady in the eighth or ninth round, depending on how many other quarterbacks are left. Finally, you can add to this stack by grabbing Rob Gronkowski or taking a late-round flier on slot receiver Scotty Miller.

Ideal draft slot for stack: Picks 3-6
