Fantasy Football Deep Sleepers 2021: Top 3 Tight Ends

Austin Hooper, Cleveland Browns

Awesemo Rank: 133

Average Draft Position: 210.7

Austin Hooper is not far removed from his breakout 2019, yet his ADP is just 210.7. Awesemo ranks Hooper in the same tier as Henry Ruggs projects for 6.98 fantasy points per game, however, so his projected performance far exceeds that draft position., which is falling in the same range as kicker Robbie Gould. Hooper’s first year in Cleveland resulted in 435 yards and four touchdowns on 46 receptions. On a Browns team that will look to improve on a playoff 2020, Hooper is a steal at his ADP.

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams

Awesemo Rank: 78

Average Draft Position: 101.3

Though not as off-the-radar as Hooper, Tyler Higbee is still in sleeper territory given his dip into recent drafts. Awesemo’s Fantasy Football Sleepers Tool gives Higbee a Sleeper Score of 23.3, indicating the separation in his 78 Awesemo Ranking and 101.3 average draft position. He is projecting for 8.39 fantasy points per game. While Higbee has not tumbled into the triple-digit territory, he is being drafted in a caliber below his valued draft range. Last season Higbee had 521 yards receiving and five touchdowns with Jared Goff as his quarterback. Now catching passes from Matthew Stafford, the hopes are high for the Rams offense.

Jared Cook, Los Angeles Chargers

Awesemo Rank: 163

Average Draft Position: 184.5

Following two seasons in New Orleans, Jared Cook has landed with the Los Angeles Chargers. With the change of venue, Cook’s ADP has dipped down in the 180s despite a track record of production. Last season with the Saints, Cook caught 27 passes for 504 yards and seven touchdowns despite inconsistent quarterback play. Now he has Justin Herbert as his quarterback, there should be a bit less volatility in his target volume than he saw last year. As such, the Awesemo Fantasy Football Sleepers Tool places Cook 21.5 spots higher than his current ADP, making him one of the top sleepers at the position.
