Week 11 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Tight Ends: Cole Kmet & Jared Cook

Looking towards Week 11 of the NFL fantasy football season, we will look into the matchups to discern the positive or negative impact a given matchup will have on tight ends. Below are the Week 11 start ’em sit ’em tight ends based on their matchups.

Week 11 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Tight Ends

Must Start: Cole Kmet — Bears at Ravens

Kmet has seen a strong increase in targets as of recently. In the Bears’ Week 9 game against the Steelers, he had six receptions on eight targets for 87 yards. This week the team will likely be without Allen Robinson. While Robinson has been a non-factor all season, his absence should make you even more confident in Kmet. Last week the Ravens “shut down” Mike Gesicki, with him having zero receptions on seven targets. Though those stats should mean little this week as Gesicki was not receiving the most accurate passes all game long. Fire up Kmet with confidence this week.

Must Start: Dawson Knox — Bills vs. Colts

After missing a few weeks because of injury, Knox made his return last week against the Jets. In what should have been a smash spot, he was a disappointment, having just one catch for 17 yards. Some may be nervous due to the poor performance with the excellent matchup, but you should not be scared. Prior to his injury, Knox was one of the upper-tier tight ends in fantasy football. During a four-game stretch from Weeks 2-5, he scored five total touchdowns. Continue to start Knox and do not let one down game discourage you.

Must Start: Dan Arnold — Jaguars vs. 49ers

Arnold has been the one bright spot of this Jaguars offense when it comes to fantasy football. Trevor Lawrence continues to heavily target him week in and week out. Last week against the Colts, he saw five receptions on eight targets for 67 yards. He is almost in a Jakobi Meyers scenario prior to last week where he continues to get the ball and is able to get solid yardage, but somehow manages to never score. Maybe that will change this week, but even if it doesn’t, we will see a high target total that will turn into another solid fantasy performance for Arnold.

Must Sit: Jared Cook — Chargers vs. Steelers

Week in and week out, fantasy managers around the world try to talk themselves into starting Cook. While the upside is always there considering he is on a great offense with the Chargers, his involvement has been quite inconsistent. Last week against the Vikings, he had just one reception on three targets for 10 yards. At this point in the season, the only reliable option in the receiving game of the Chargers is Keenan Allen. Even with Mike Williams being such a disappointment following the first few games, that opportunity has not been seized by Cook. Look elsewhere at tight end over Cook this week, and going forward.

Must Sit: Adam Trautman — Saints at Eagles

While we have seen Trautman’s target total increase in the last three games, this increase has not meant much for fantasy production. Trautman has yet to eclipse seven half-PPR points on the season and there are not many signs pointing towards that trend changing. Last week against the Titans, he had five receptions on six targets for 32 yards. Many will talk themselves into Trautman this week as the Eagles have not been great against tight ends, he should still be left on your bench.
