Week 6 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Running Backs: Leonard Fournette & Darrel Williams

It has been a chaotic season for fantasy running backs, but it is time to relax and analyze the position and matchups to find must-starts and must-sits for Week 6. Below we will break down the NFL fantasy football rankings and go over the Week 6 fantasy football start ’em sit ’em running backs.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Running Backs

Must Start: Leonard Fournette — Buccaneers at Eagles

Fournette has completely taken over as the lead back of the Buccaneers. While there were fears of a split backfield between him and Ronald Jones, Fournette has a stranglehold and is RB17 in half PPR. Last week against the Dolphins he had 12 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown and four receptions for 43 yards. This week Tampa is going against the Eagles, who have been getting trounced by the running back position. Expect another solid finish out of Fournette this week.

Must Start: Darrel Williams — Chiefs at Washington

With reports that Clyde Edwards-Helaire will miss at least a few weeks with an MCL sprain, Williams will be atop the waiver priority, and he is the perfect plug-and-play back. Last week after Edwards-Helaire got hurt Williams had five rushes for 27 yards and three receptions for 18. While the Chiefs have looked like a shell of their prior years, they are bound to be highly competitive against Washington. Expect a solid workload for Williams in Edwards-Helaire’s absence.

Must Start: Myles Gaskin — Dolphins at Jaguars

While there is certainly risk with Gaskin based upon his performance last week, the Dolphins need to give him the ball more. Against the Buccaneers Gaskin had six carries for 25 yards and 10 receptions for 74 and two touchdowns. Besides last week, Gaskin’s second-best performance was Week 1 with Tua Tagovailoa under center against the Patriots. This week it is likely that Tagovailoa will return, so fire up Gaskin this week.

Must Sit: Miles Sanders — Eagles vs. Buccaneers

Once again Sanders is a must-sit running back, as Nick Sirianni continues to give him little opportunity. Despite coming out the gate hot in Week 1, Sanders has been nothing short of a humongous disappointment since. Last week against the Panthers he had 11 carries for 45 yards and five receptions for 6. Even with Kenneth Gainwell receiving less volume last week, Sanders still did not perform. Until Sirianni commits to giving Sanders a stronger workload, he is not trustworthy.

Must Sit: Latavius Murray — Ravens vs. Chargers

The Ravens backfield continues to be a headache for fantasy managers. On Sunday Night Football against the Colts Murray had 49% of the snaps, Devonta Freeman had 27%, and Ty’Son Williams had 19%. Even though Murray was the leader in snaps, he only had six carries for 17 yards and two receptions for 13. It seems as though this confusion is never going to end, and none of these backs are startable.

Must Sit: Devin Singletary — Bills at Titans

It is clear at this point that Singletary is the secondary running back behind Zack Moss. Even with the Bills rolling the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, Moss only saw six carries for 25 yards. This week is a solid matchup for the Bills running backs against the Titans, but Singletary is better off on the bench.
