Top 3 Week 12 Defense Rankings & D/ST Streaming Options | Fantasy Football 2021

With only the Chiefs and Cardinals on a bye in Week 12, fantasy managers might not be left scrambling to fill their defense/special teams (D/ST) spot. However, if you have been streaming the position and are in need of a new option, consider the following three that are still available in the majority of leagues. Also, check out the Awesemo projections to see what is projected for all of the teams that will be in action.

Week 12 Fantasy Football Streaming D/ST Rankings

Chicago Bears (87% available)

After starting out with a 3-2 record, the wheels have come off for the Bears. They have lost five straight games, although they have had a rough schedule, with three of those five losses coming against the Packers, Buccaneers and Ravens. Week 11 brought a 3-point loss to the Ravens in which Chicago held Baltimore to 16 points, but their defensive effort was not exactly anything to get fired up about considering Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (illness) did not play.

As bad as their record is, the Bears have held their opponents to 20 points or fewer four times. That included a 24-14 win over the Lions, who they will face again in Week 12. Starting at quarterback for the Lions will likely be either Jared Goff, who missed Week 11 with an oblique injury, or Tim Boyle, who threw for just 77 yards and two interceptions starting in Goff’s place. Regardless of who is under center, the Lions could have trouble scoring again.

Cincinnati Bengals (86% available)

After losing consecutive games for the first time this season, the Bengals got back on the winning side against the Raiders in Week 11. Their offense produced 32 points, and their defense was equally as impressive, holding the Raiders to just 13 points. That marked the sixth time this season that they held their opponents to 21 points or fewer. One of their strengths has been stopping the run, leading them to allow the fifth-fewest yards rushing per game in the league.

Their success against the run is noteworthy for their Week 12 matchup against the Steelers, who rely heavily on rookie running back Najee Harris. When these two teams met in Week 3, Harris was limited to 40 yards on 14 carries. He did post 102 yards receiving, but the Steelers could only muster up 10 points. The Steelers do not have an explosive offense in general, topping 30 points in a game just one time this season. If the Bengals can bottle up Harris on the ground again, the Steelers might have problems producing points.

Atlanta Falcons (92% available)

The Falcons could not score a single point in an embarrassing loss on Thursday Night Football to the Patriots in Week 11. The Patriots finished with 25 points, but one of their scores came on an interception that was returned for a touchdown, so their offense was not exactly explosive either. Normally the Falcons D/ST would not be one to even consider. However, a matchup against the Jaguars should at least put them on your radar if the Bears and Bengals D/STs are not available. The Jaguars have been completely inept offensively, averaging just 15.9 points per game, which is the second-lowest mark in the league.
