Fantasy Football Rankings: Strength of Schedule Playoff Targets

1. Marquise Brown, Baltimore Ravens

Brown was selected in the first round of the 2019 draft to hopefully build a dynamic long-term pairing with quarterback Lamar Jackson. While he was one of the team’s top wide receivers during his rookie campaign, the Ravens’ run-heavy style of offense left him with only 71 targets across 15 games. He caught 46 of them for 584 yards and seven touchdowns.

Entering his second season in the league, Brown could be line for increased production as Jackson continues to develop in the passing game. He’s projected to average 9.18 fantasy points per game in Weeks 15 and 16, which is an increase of 5.04% compared to his overall season projection of 8.74 points per contest. The Jaguars aren’t exactly a tough foe in Week 15, but the Ravens facing the Giants in Week 16 could be a huge boost for Brown. They allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game last year and are thin at cornerback outside of James BradberryBrown is Awesemo’s #1 do no draft WR in his fantasy football rankings at his current ADP.

2. Henry Ruggs, Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders made a splash in the draft by selecting Ruggs with the 20th pick in the first round. He was a standout receiver for Alabama, racking up 24 touchdowns and averaging 17.5 yards per reception across three seasons. Although the Raiders had Darren Waller emerge at tight end last year, they badly needed to add some talent a wide receiver, so selecting Ruggs could prove to be a prudent move.

Ruggs can play both on the outside and in the slot, but Raiders’ offensive coordinator Greg Olson stated earlier this month that their intent is to start with Ruggs in the slot. Either way, he could quickly emerge as their top wide receiver with his main competition being Tyrell Williams and Hunter Renfrow. He’s projected to average 7.06 fantasy points per game for the season, but that projection increases by 4.6% to 7.39 points per contest during the fantasy playoffs. The key matchup for him could be facing the Dolphins in Week 16, who allowed a league-high 30.9 points per game last season. Ruggs is Awesemo’s #2 do no draft WR in his fantasy football rankings at his current ADP.

3. Brandin Cooks, Houston Texans

Cooks had been one of the more consistent wide receivers in the league, receiving at least 100 targets and posting at least 1,000 receiving yards and five touchdowns each year from 2015 through 2018. However, he fell off the map last year while being limited to 14 games because of a concussion. He caught only 42 of 72 targets, finishing with 583 yards and two scores. After that disappointing campaign, the Rams sent him packing in a deal that landed him with the Texans.

Cooks will have big shoes to fill with the Texans, who dealt away franchise star DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals. The Texans’ other options at wide receiver are the injury-prone Will Fuller and veterans Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills, so Cooks could emerge as their top pass-catching option if he can stay healthy. He’s projected to average 10.36 fantasy points per game during the fantasy playoffs, which is an increase of 4.03% compared to his overall season projection of 9.96 points per contest. The Texans will face the Colts on the road in Week 15 and the Bengals at home in Week 16, two teams who both finished inside the bottom 12 of the league in terms of passing yards allowed per game last season. Cooks is Awesemo’s #3 do no draft WR in his fantasy football rankings at his current ADP
