Top 5 Week 2 Streaming Quarterback Options | Fantasy Football 2021

Streaming quarterbacks has become a very popular strategy in the fantasy football realm over the years. Finding the perfect matchup for a waiver wire quarterback is difficult given how much the NFL varies from week to week. Here we will discuss five of the best Week 2 streaming quarterbacks that are likely on the waiver wire for NFL fantasy football.

Week 2 Fantasy Football Streaming Quarterbacks

Jameis Winston — New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers (34% rostered)

Winston finished as QB3 in Week 1, throwing just 20 times for 14 completions and 148 yards. While those stats may not look enticing, he also threw five touchdowns against a good Green Bay defense. The 20 attempts should not be much of a worry, as the game was out of hand quickly. While Winston is always a risk for turnovers, he may have turned the page and could be more consistent.

Kirk Cousins — Minnesota Vikings at Arizona Cardinals (35.2% rostered)

Cousins was QB11 in Week 1, completing 36 of 49 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns. Some may be nervous about Minnesota playing the Cardinals since Chandler Jones was all over Ryan Tannehill on Sunday. However, much of that can be attributed to terrible offensive line play. While this is not a perfect matchup for Cousins, it should be a much closer game than the blowout Arizona pulled off in Tennessee.

Ben Roethlisberger — Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Las Vegas Raiders (22.2% rostered)

Roethlisberger looked far from great on Sunday against the Bills, only throwing for 188 yards and a touchdown. The Raiders have not played yet, but the expectation is that their defense is not exceptional. Roethlisberger is also notorious for playing better football at home, and with a loaded offense, he should produce in Week 2.

Baker Mayfield — Cleveland Browns vs. Houston Texans (67.3% rostered)

Mayfield and the Browns came out hot against the Chiefs, though much of that success came from running with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Since that was the gameplan, Mayfield threw just 28 times but completed 21 for 321 yards and an interception (Week 1 QB25). This week he gets the Texans, who had stout defensive plays against the Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence. But the Browns are far from the Jaguars, and Mayfield should have no issue carving up that defense.

Mac Jones — New England Patriots at New York Jets (16.1% rostered)

In most scenarios a rookie quarterback’s first game is shaky, but Jones was QB21 against a stout Dolphins defense. He went 29-for-39 attempts for 281 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. This week he gets the Jets, which is about as easy as it gets for a quarterback. Sam Darnold threw for 279 yards and a touchdown on the Jets and also ran for a touchdown. If Jones plays as well as he did in Week 1 against a worse defense, he could be a top-12 fantasy quarterback this week.
