Is Jones Really Injury Prone?
The sentiment is out there that Jones is injury prone, but that simply is not true. Jones has since 2014 missed a total of 11 games out of a possible 112 played. Take out 2020, and he only has missed four games since 2014.
Jones’ Production in 2020
Due to a hamstring strain sustained in Week 2, Jones failed to live up to his usual top-five expectations. Missing seven games on the season, Jones had 68 targets (64th amongst wide receivers) and 51 receptions (53rd) for 771 yards (39th) and three touchdowns (65th). At a full-season pace, Jones would have racked up 91 receptions on 121 targets for 1,317 yards and five touchdowns. Had this been the case, Jones would have been a top-15 wide receiver in all formats. Even in Jones’ “old age” he is still an elite wide receiver.

In order to acquire Jones, the Titans had to let Corey Davis go. If Davis were still on the Titans, Jones’ projection would remain largely the same, but with Davis gone the number of targets Jones projects to see is maximized.
Jones’ Outlook in 2021
While he is on the wrong side of 30, Jones is still one of the most elite wide receivers in the National Football League. There is a reason that Jones has been a top-five receiver pick in fantasy football for the longest time. Regardless of the team change, he will easily cement himself as a top-tier pass-catching option for Tennessee. Even if AJ Brown leads the team in targets, there is still a path for Jones to finish in the top 12 at the wide receiver position. Defenses will not be able to focus on a single aspect of the Titans offense; stack the box to stop Derrick Henry, and Ryan Tannehill will feed Jones and Brown. Double them on the outside, and that will create opportunities for the other playmakers. This is one of the most powerful offenses in the NFL, and Jones will be a big part of their success in 2021.
