Dan Vasta’s Top Five Fantasy Football Sleepers for 2020

Fantasy football can be quite the roller coaster for owners. There are a ton of ups and downs along the way. The hope is your top draft picks will be consistent, weekly contributors. Finding a few diamonds in the rough though often makes up the difference between a decent and a championship contending fantasy squad. The key is not just looking at the individual talent, but their chances to be featured in the offense. We are looking for as many opportunities as possible. Without further ado, here are some of my top fantasy football sleepers based on current average draft position.

Dan Vasta’s Top Five Fantasy Football Sleepers

Fantasy Football Sleepers, #1: Marquise Brown

Brown was an absolute game breaker at Oklahoma and flashed a ton of promise last season before a lingering foot injury stalled his rookie season. He is as explosive as it gets despite putting on additional weight this offseason. After playing under 160 last year, Brown is now up to 180 and should arguably be the top target for the Ravens passing game in 2020. Most projections have him for over 100 targets, and he missed a few games on top of playing hurt.

Just look at what he showed to start and finish the season. He dazzled the nation in his NFL debut against the Dolphins, hauling in four of his five targets for 147 yards and two scores. The next week against the Cardinals, he was peppered with 13 targets and ended up catching eight of them for 86 yards. In the AFC Divisional Round matchup against the Titans, Brown caught seven passes for 126 yards.

Ultimately, he can be a boom-or-bust pick on any given week due to his inconsistent target share. At his current average draft position (PPR, 12-team) of 68 as the 28th wide receiver being taken, the upside is there. He will have some games where he performs like a WR1 and will be a huge asset as a flex option or as a WR2.

Fantasy Football Sleepers, #2: Noah Fant

Another second-year player primed for a larger role, Fant should jump towards TE1 status in 2020. Denver is going to be a ton of fun to watch with all their young talent on the perimeter.

Fant has the perfect combination of size (6-foot-4, nearly 250 pounds) and speed to dominate against single coverage. At his current ADP, he is being drafted as the 12th best tight end.

The opposition will likely be focused on Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton in the passing game, which should free up plenty of opportunities. He should not have major issues becoming a weekly starter thanks to his nose for the end zone. Barely being drafted as a top-12 tight end, his upside could be huge, and more importantly his floor makes him a safe selection in the final few rounds of drafts.

Fantasy Football Sleepers, #3: Zack Moss

This north-south runner has a chance to really turn heads as a rookie. His ADP makes him the 43rd running back taken and he should get just as many touches as Devin Singletary as the season progresses. While he may not come close to RB1 status due to not enough goal line chances with Josh Allen stealing them, Moss can do a lot for the Bills. Over his final three seasons at Utah, he hauled in 65 passes

Moss has a little Matt Forte in his game where he can pass block, run downhill on defenses, catch the ball in the flats and make defenders miss in the open field. Moss could be a true three-down back in the near future and has upside in an offense that loves to keep it on the ground as Allen continues to develop as a pocket passer.

Fantasy Football Sleepers, #4: Parris Campbell

The former Buckeye had an injury-riddled season as a rookie and hardly made any sort of an impact last season. His current ADP is not even in the top 200, and he is mostly going undrafted right now. This speedster has wheels for days and has weekly flex play potential. Don’t let him get to the waiver wire, so be sure to grab him in your final rounds as he could exceed his low expectations.

Campbell should be a solid contributor for the Colts this season with Philip Rivers out to prove wrong those who believe he is done being at least average. While Campbell won’t command double-digit targets on a weekly basis, he has the skills to thrive in the slot as a tremendous late-round selection.

Fantasy Football Sleepers, #5: Anthony Miller

With a current ADP at just 138, Miller is not going until the 12th round in most 12-team PPR leagues. He is totally worth a shot as one of your final bench spots. This is a classic little risk with the potential for a solid reward. Despite Matt Nagy still looking for more production out of his passing game, the attempts were there last season. The Bears ranked 13th in the NFL with 36.2 pass attempts per game. Allen Robinson reaped the benefits and became a fantasy star thanks to a plethora of targets on a weekly basis.

While Miller may not be a must start every week this season, he should come close to 100-plus targets if he can stay healthy. Along with Robinson and Tarik Cohen, Miller should be one of Chicago’s only reliable pass catchers regardless of who starts under center in the Windy City.
