Fantasy Football Advice: Week 15 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Picks

Quarterback: Start ‘Em

Jalen Hurts, PHI (at ARI)

Hurts flashed his wheels last week in an upset win over the Saints, rushing 18 times for 106 yards. He also provided respectable numbers through the air with 167 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles will turn to him at quarterback again this week against the Cardinals, who have allowed the sixth-most rushing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season. If you’re thin at quarterback, Hurts at least has upside based on his rushing ability.

Quarterback: Sit ‘Em

Matt Ryan, ATL (vs. TB)

The end of the season likely can’t come fast enough for Ryan. He’s struggled mightily down the stretch, throwing four touchdowns and six interceptions across the last four games. He also threw for 232 yards or fewer in three of those contests. His recent increase in turnovers is a cause for concern in this matchup against the Bucs, who have forced the sixth-most interceptions in the league.

Running Back: Start ‘Em

J.K. Dobbins, BAL (vs. JAC)

The Ravens are one of the most run-heavy offenses in the NFL, which suits this matchup against the Jaguars very well considering the Jaguars have allowed the third-most rushing yards per game. Enter Dobbins, who is still splitting carries with Gus Edwards, but it at least appears that he won’t have to compete with Mark Ingram for playing time anymore since Ingram had no carries in Week 14. The Ravens are also a bit unsettled at wide receiver with Marquise Brown, Miles Boykin and James Proche having all been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. They will all be eligible to play if they continue to test negative leading up to game to, but they will have missed practice all week.

Running Back: Sit ‘Em

Giovani Bernard, CIN (vs. PIT)

Despite Joe Mixon (foot) being out, Bernard has mostly struggled to contribute. An early fumble last week against the Cowboys left him to receive only three carries, which he turned into eight yards. He hasn’t recorded more than 32 rushing yards in any of his last five games and he’s posted 17 or fewer receiving yards four times during that stretch. That doesn’t bode well for his prospects against the Steelers, who have allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season in PPR formats.

Wide Receiver: Start ‘Em

T.Y. Hilton, IND (vs. HOU)

No one would have faulted you if you dropped Hilton after his dreadful start to the season. Through Week 11, he had 29 receptions for 327 yards and no touchdowns. However, he’s exploded since then, posting 17 catches, 277 yards and four touchdowns over the last three games. This is a great opportunity for him to continue his hot streak against the porous Texans’ defense, who he recorded eight catches, 110 yards and a touchdown against just two weeks ago.

Wide Receiver: Sit ‘Em

Tee Higgins, CIN (vs. PIT)

This is a good week to fade just about everyone on the Bengals. Not only is it a tough matchup against the Steelers, but injuries have robbed them of their top quarterback and running back. Whether it’s Brandon Allen (knee) or Ryan Finley who gets the start this week, Higgins doesn’t have much upside. Over the last four games, he has a total of 18 catches for 175 yards and a touchdown.

Tight End: Start ‘Em

Dan Arnold, ARI (vs. PHI)

There haven’t been many reliable fantasy options at tight end. If you don’t have one of the top players at the position and you want to take a flier on someone with a good matchup, then Arnold should be on your radar. He’s recorded four touchdowns across the last four games and will be facing an Eagles defense that has allowed eight touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season.

Tight End: Sit ‘Em

Zach Ertz, PHI (at ARI)

The downside to Hurts taking over at quarterback is that the Eagles could become a more run-heavy team. He attempted 30 passes in his debut, which is a significant step down since Carson Wentz has recorded at least 40 passes attempts in a game six times. As a result of last week’s limited passing attack, Ertz finished with only two catches for eight yards on three targets. He has recorded fewer than 10 receiving yards in three of his last five games, which makes him too risky to start in Week 15 for most leagues.
