Week 7 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Wide Receivers: Tyler Lockett & Marquise Brown

Looking towards Week 7 of the NFL fantasy football season, we will examine all of the matchups and discern the positive or negative impact that a given matchup will have on the wide receivers. Below is the best fantasy football start ’em sit ’em options for Week 7 NFL matchups.

Week 7 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Wide Receivers

Must Start: Jaylen Waddle — Miami Dolphins vs. Atlanta Falcons

While there were some worries about how effective Waddle would be last week with Tua Tagovailoa under center, he easily quelled them. Last week against the Jaguars Waddle saw 10 receptions on 13 targets for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Even with DeVante Parker returning to practice and likely suiting up on Sunday, that should not affect Waddle’s output at all. Expect a healthy dosage of targets for Waddle on Sunday, which could lead to a huge game against the 30th-ranked pass defense by DVOA.

Must Start: D.J. Moore — Carolina Panthers at New York Giants

Moore came out the gate hot, putting up four solid games to start the season. As of late his production has fallen off, as he has failed to achieve 10 half-PPR points two weeks in a row. Last week he saw 13 targets for five receptions and 73 yards against the Vikings, so the high target share is still there for Moore even in his down games. If there was ever a game to bounce back, it would be against the Giants, who were just blown out by the Rams last week.

Must Start: Marquise Brown — Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Brown had a down game last week, and given how inconsistent he has been through his career, it makes sense that some may be nervous. However, last week Baltimore was run heavy even though most projected this to be a pass-heavy game because the Ravens rolled the Chargers unexpectedly. In the game Brown had four receptions on five targets for 35 yards. Do not panic about Brown; instead, play him with confidence this week.

Must Sit: Tyler Lockett — Seattle Seahawks vs. New Orleans Saints

Lockett has struggled mightily following the first two weeks of the season. This appears to be no end in sight, as Geno Smith under center makes things get even worse. Match the bad quarterback play with the Saints being the ninth-ranked pass defense in DVOA, and Lockett is best left on benches this week.

Must Sit: Brandon Aiyuk — San Francisco 49ers vs. Indianapolis Colts

John Lynch said in an interview that the 49ers still believe in Aiyuk. However, he is not seeing very much usage. Last week Aiyuk had two receptions on four targets for 32 yards. He has yet to have a game with over six targets, and things seem grimmer as the weeks go on. Deebo Samuel has been on a tear, and even with George Kittle out, Aiyuk appears to be an afterthought.

Must Sit: Tyler Boyd — Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens

When all three of Tyler Boyd, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are on the field, typically Boyd is the odd man out. Even with Higgins not playing too well, Boyd still has not performed. Last week against a softer Lions defense Boyd had one reception on three targets for 7 yards. With all the Bengals receivers healthy, leave Boyd on the bench.
