Week 8 Fantasy Football Buy-Low Trade Candidates: D.J. Moore & Patrick Mahomes

Checking fantasy football projections can provide a sense of how a player should perform in a given matchup. Let’s look into some of the best fantasy football trade values for Week 8 that could be league winners with the right buy-low offer.

Week 8 Fantasy Football Buy Low Trade Targets

Patrick Mahomes – QB – Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes has been a huge disappointment this season. Not because he has gone from one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL to becoming one of the worst but because he is not living up to his standard of play. This year he has thrown nine interceptions in seven games which is on pace to demolish his previous high of 12 interceptions in 2018. While things may look bad for Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, he is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

D.J. Moore – WR – Carolina Panthers

Moore was on top of the world early on in the season. Having four solid performances in a row but his last three games have been far from satisfactory. Luckily for Moore, the targets have still been there as on the season he has had over ten targets in five of seven games. Last week against the Giants he had 6 receptions on 10 targets for 73 yards. Much of Moore’s downfall has come from Sam Darnold’s poor play. As long as Darnold is able to play slightly better Moore should get back on track.

Leonard Fournette – RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This Buccaneers backfield was very tough to dissect last season and determine whether you should be starting him or Ronald Jones. Everyone believed that going into the season that confusion would continue, but we were all very wrong on that. Fournette is the clear workhorse back for his team. With the number of touches, he is seeing it should be no shock to anyone that he could finish as a top-five running back at the end of the season. Especially with so many of the big names at the position still sidelined with injury. Last week against the Bears he had 15 rushes for 81 yards and a touchdown as well as having 2 receptions on four targets for nine yards. His receiving volume has been quite impressive this season and continues to move the needle towards superstardom for Fournette.

Deebo Samuel – WR – San Francisco 49ers

Samuel is far from a buy-low candidate as he is currently one of the top wide receivers in fantasy football. With that said Samuel’s upside is the number one wide receiver. Brandon Aiyuk is virtually irrelevant in this offense and has no signs of reemerging. With very little Aiyuk gives Samuel even more potential to flourish. Last week against the colts he had seven receptions on 11 targets for 100 yards and a touchdown. In most games, he also gets a rush or two which gives him even more upside. Trade for him now before his value increases even further.

George Kittle – TE – San Francisco 49ers

One of the best times to look to acquire a player via trade is when they are either hurt or have their bye week. This week Kittle fills the role of being injured. Kittle has been on the injured reserve with a calf injury and is expected to return next week against the Cardinals. His season thus far has been far from ideal but his final two games before injury showed off the upside that he has weekly. In week four against the Seahawks, he had 4 receptions on 10 targets for 40 yards. Finding a solid tight end option is extremely tough so getting one of the best tight ends in the league on the cheap is ideal.
