Week 8 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Quarterbacks: Kirk Cousins & Matt Ryan

By dissecting each matchup for Week 8, we can see how it will positively and negatively impact each quarterback. Keeping tabs on the fantasy football rankings is crucial to know where players are rising and falling throughout the week at any given position. Here are the Week 8 quarterbacks to start and sit.

Week 8 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Quarterbacks

Must Start: Kirk Cousins — Vikings vs. Cowboys

Cousins is currently the QB13 in fantasy football. In his last game (Week 6) he faced the Panthers and went 33-for-48 for 373 yards and three touchdowns. This week the Cowboys should be an ideal matchup for Cousins. While the Dallas defense has been solid this season, a strong passing attack from the Cowboys should lead to a passing uptick for the Vikings. Expect a top-10 performance out of Cousins this week.

Must Start: Carson Wentz — Colts vs. Titans

Despite being banged up, Wentz is currently the QB14. He is beginning to look like the 2017 version of himself. Last week against the 49ers he went 17-for-26 for 150 yards and two touchdowns and running for another touchdown. Even with the weather clearly impacting the game, the Colts offense moved the ball efficiently. Facing the Titans this week could lead to a high-scoring affair. While the Titans defense shut down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs last week, it is unlikely they will do so against the Colts.

Must Start: Matt Ryan — Falcons vs. Panthers

Ryan started off the season ice cold with three subpar performances in a row. The tide turned in Week 4 against Washington, and his success has continued through the last three games. Last week against the Dolphins he went 25-for-40 for 336 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Like in seasons prior, the Falcons offense continues to be pass heavy, throwing over 40 times in four of the six games on the season. With the emergence of Kyle Pitts, Ryan should continue to play strongly.

Must Sit: Tua Tagovailoa — Dolphins at Bills

Tagovailoa has looked decent this season, with some highs and some lows. Last week he had a solid showing against the Falcons, going 32-for-40 for 291 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. The Bills defense has played very well against Tagovailoa in his career, so let him sit for the week.

Must Sit: Taylor Heinicke — Washington at Broncos

Heinicke is a fun quarterback to watch, as it always seems like he can lead the team to a win at any point. With that said, he has slowed down in fantasy production over the last few weeks. Last week he had a bounce back against the Packers, going 25-for-37 for 268 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Hopefully this trend will continue, but against the Broncos players should look elsewhere at quarterback.
