Working the Waiver Wire: Top Week 13 Fantasy Football Pickups | Devontae Booker + Keke Coutee

Week 12 continues to drag on with the Ravens and Steelers game being pushed to Wednesday. While we do still have that game to hopefully get through, it’s time to start looking ahead to Week 13. The options on the waiver wire aren’t great, but if you need help for your team, consider adding the following players who are still available in the majority of Yahoo and ESPN fantasy football leagues.

Fantasy Football: Week 13 NFL Waiver Wire Pickups | ESPN + Yahoo

Devontae Booker, Las Vegas Raiders (91% available)

In arguably their most disappointing loss of the season, the Raiders were steamrolled by the Falcons on Sunday. To add injury to insult, Josh Jacobs went down late with an ankle injury. Initial reports indicate that he likely avoided a serious issue, but there is a chance he sits out a favorable matchup this week against the Jets. With how bad the Jets have played, the Raiders might not want to force Jacobs to take the field if he’s not completely healthy. If he were to sit out, Booker would likely take on the bulk of the work out of the backfield, and is largely available in Yahoo and ESPN fantasy football leagues.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 1 (10%-15% of FAAB budget)

Keke Coutee, Houston Texans (99% available)

A once deep group of wide receivers is now incredibly thin for the Texans. First, Randall Cobb (toe) went on IR. Then, they released Kenny Stills. Now Will Fuller has been suspended for six games for the use of performance enhancing drugs. Brandin Cooks is left as their top option with Coutee having an excellent opportunity to grab onto the number two spot. You might need to temper expectations with three tough matchups coming up against the Colts, Bears and Colts again, but volume alone at least makes Coutee a viable WR3 in Yahoo and ESPN fantasy leagues.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 2 (10% of FAAB budget)

Gabriel Davis, Buffalo Bills (97% available)

John Brown has dealt with his share of injuries this season. His latest one to his ankle has resulted in him being placed on IR. Despite the Bills still having Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley at wide receiver, they don’t use the tight end much, so Davis will be a fantasy-relevant option for however long Brown is out. With Brown sidelined last week against the Chargers, Davis caught three of four targets for 79 yards and a touchdown. In another game that Brown missed this season against the Titans, Davis caught five of nine targets for 58 yards.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 3 (10% of FAAB budget)

Frank Gore, New York Jets (75% available)

Another week, another loss for the Jets. They couldn’t get hardly anything going on offense Sunday against the Dolphins, scoring just three points in their defeat. However, Gore was busy, rushing 18 times for 74 yards. He also caught all three of his targets for 12 yards. With La’Mical Perine (ankle) on IR, the Jets seem determined to make Gore their featured back. While their offense is limited, volume alone makes Gore an interesting option in Week 13 against the Raiders. He might even find his way into the end zone considering the Raiders are tied for the most rushing touchdowns allowed (17) in the league.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 4 (10% of FAAB budget)

Allen Lazard, Green Bay Packers (61% available)

The Packers dismantled the Bears on Sunday night with Aaron Rodgers throwing four touchdown passes in the win. One of them went to Lazard, who otherwise had a pedestrian night with four catches for 23 yards. With that being said, he has three touchdowns despite only playing in five games this season. Also, he received at least five targets in a game three times. His next four opponents are the Eagles, Lions, Panthers and Titans, none of which have overpowering defenses. Don’t be surprised if he finds his way into the end zone in a couple of those contests.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 5 (5%-8% of FAAB budget)

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins (80% available)

Tua Tagovailoa (thumb) was unable to suit up Sunday, which left Fitzpatrick to start a favorable matchup against the Jets. He didn’t disappoint, throwing for 257 yards and two touchdowns. It seems like Tagovailoa could miss more than just one game, and if he does, that means that Fitzpatrick would be looking at another favorable matchup, this time against the Bengals. Not only do they have difficulties preventing yards through the air, but the Bengals are tied for the sixth-most passing touchdowns allowed. We know the upside Fitzpatrick can bring, and if you’re making a playoff push in ESPN and Yahoo leagues, he could be a great fill-in option.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 6 (3%-5% of FAAB budget)

Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears (93% available)

Taking a chance on any of the Bears’ wide receivers not named Allen Robinson is risky given their state at quarterback. However, as far as favorable schedules go, the Bears have a great one down the stretch. Their next four games come against the Lions, Texans, Vikings and Jaguars, each of which ranks inside the bottom-10 in the league in terms of passing yards allowed per contest. That could mean a strong finish is coming from Mooney, who has received at least five targets in eight of the last nine games.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 7 (1%-3% of FAAB budget)

Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears (82% available)

Miller has posted back-to-back quiet performances, totaling five receptions for 56 yards the last two games. However, the good news is that he received 13 targets during that stretch. He has also had at least six passes thrown his way in four straight contests. Given the Bears’ favorable upcoming schedule, both Mooney and Miller are appealing options in deeper leagues.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 8 (1%-3% of FAAB budget)

Trey Burton, Indianapolis Colts (81% available)

The Colts’ tight end situation isn’t ideal from a fantasy perspective when Burton, Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox are all healthy. Still, Burton has 11 targets and two touchdown receptions across their last two games. He’s one of the Colts’ primary weapons when they get in close, evident by the fact that he has seven red zone targets across their last seven contests. Their next three games come against the Texans, Raiders and Texans again, which works in Burton’s favor of finding the end zone again since they have both allowed an average of at least 27 points a game.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Priority: 9 (1%-3% of FAAB budget)
