About FantasyDraft

FantasyDraft, the only rake free daily fantasy site is returning with the Hooters Main Event, another $750,000 contest for Week 3. It’s the largest and only rake free context of it’s kind.

Why pay a 15% rake when you can pay next to nothing? FantasyDraft has monthly plans that charge you a flat fee that allow you to play up to a specific dollar level, rake free. So, if you were to go on their $100 per month plan, you’d get up to $25,000 in rake free entries that month. At a 15% rake, that would normally cost you $3,750. Easy decision.

Other differences:

Less top-heavy contents: Paying out a minimum of 25% of players in paid contests. Fewer top-heavy structures means less variance for GPP players and more chances to get a return on your investment.

Flexible Lineup Structure: More freedom to build, done using extra FLEX positions, and less specific positions.

Multi-Entry Capping: Leveling the playing field by limiting the number of lineups players can enter in contests.

Scoring: It’s the same as DraftKings. The only major difference between these sites is the salary cap. FantasyDraft is $100,000, which of course makes it easy to determine what percentage of your cap hit is taken up by a given player.

Rosters: There’s one less WR spot and one extra FLEX, allowing the player a little more creativity when building.

Quarterback

Deshaun Watson: Grades: A, Values: A

If you have a chance to check out our new NFL Expert survey, you’ll notice our touts seem to have reached an almost consensus on the Watson-led Houston Texans stack this weekend. The Texans are essentially tied for the second highest team total on the slate at 29 points with a home matchup against the Oakland Raiders on the horizon. Yes, those same Raiders that gave up six total touchdowns to Aaron Rodgers last week. With Will Fuller out, this has the makings of a potentially concentrated and decently valued stack. DeAndre Hopkins should get the lion’s share of targets, but moderately priced Kenny Stills has been an integral part of this offense when Fuller has been absent. Watson is expensive on FantasyDraft, but worth the pay up

The Raiders are allowing the third-most points to opposing fantasy quarterbacks this season, behind the lowly Dolphins and Falcons. Additionally, they have a 39.4 PFF coverage grade (31st) and a pass-funnel defense that ranks 10th against the run and 29th against the pass, according to Football Outsiders. It’s looking like Watson will be the most owned quarterbck of the slate, so find your pivots elsewhere if rostering. Kenny Stills and DeAndre Hopkins are also between 15-20% on most sites.

Wide Receiver

Michael Thomas: Grade: A, Value: A

Michael Thomas is the lone wide receiver with an A grade in both points and value on FantasyDraft, with the New Orleans Saints projected for a slate-high 30.25 points at home against the Arizona Cardinals. And you likely won’t have to worry about shadow coverage from Cardinals corner Patrick Peterson, who lined up out wide on 61 of 64 snaps last week, while Thomas, for his part, runs in the slot 15-20% of the time. Even if Thomas does get the shadow treatment, volume always trumps matchup. Since Week 5, Thomas is third in the NFL with 24 targets and second in catch rate at 82%.

Running Back

Leonard Fournette: Grade: A, Value: A

For the umpteenth week in a row, we’re recommending Leonard Fournette on FantasyDraft. Sorry. But here’s the thing – you can’t shy away from touting the same play week in and week out if that player continues to be a great value and one of the most reliable fantasy producers in the NFL, right? It’s not our fault none of these DFS sites can price him properly! Fournette is second only to Christian McCaffrey in snap counts through six weeks, sitting 10% higher than third place Ezekiel Elliot. His getting priced up a bit, but is still a great value.

Here’s what Adam Pfeifer had to say in his weekly matchups column:

“Another week, another 30 touches for Leonard Fournette. 31, to be exact. He is second in the NFL with a 91 percent opportunity share, while also leading the league in carries with 144, averaging 20.6 per game because, well, that’s how math works. Despite all of this volume, Fournette has scored just one touchdown this season, a number that will absolutely go up very soon. And it could very well be this week, facing a Jets defense that has allowed the most rushing touchdowns per game on the season (1.7), while 55.5 percent of all touchdowns scored against New York have come via the run, the highest rate in all of football through seven weeks of play. Linebacker C.J. Mosley, who returned in Week 7, may have re-injured his groin, which would be a huge loss, considering he is the heart and soul of this defense.”

Tight End

Hunter Henry: Grade: A, Value: A

Bargain basement pricing. That’s what this is all about, cause the Chargers 18.5 implied total isn’t too exciting. At $8,000, Henry is priced among a bunch of scrub fantasy TEs like TJ Hockenson and Jimmy Graham. And hey, at least the Bears have been terrible at defending the TE position right?

Again, let’s dive into Adam Pfeifer’s analysis:

“In two games since returning from injury, tight end Hunter Henry has been awesome, catching 14 of 17 targets for 197 yards and two touchdowns. Last week, Henry ran a route on 80 percent of Rivers’ dropbacks, while no tight end in football has run more routes over the last two weeks (71). During that same span, Henry has been targeted on 17.2 percent of his snaps, the third-highest rate among all tight ends. He is so involved right now and still leads the league in percentage of targets in the end zone since entering the league, making him a locked-in top-seven tight end play each and every week. The Bears just allowed a touchdown to Josh Hill last week and are now allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends on the season.”
