KBO DFS Picks: Spotlight Pitchers
Raul Alcantara
Tonight’s pitching slate feels like a tough nut to crack, but I believe that Alcantara is the top option on both sites. Let’s start with the easy stuff. The Doosan Bears are -200 favorites. That alone puts most pitchers in play. Alcantara has been solid in 2020, sporting a 6-1 record with 7.5 strikeouts per 9 innings and a 4.31 FIP. Not wildly appealing on the surface … until you dig into his price. The price of $6,500 is comically low, which makes him the easy play from a value perspective. It’s not as clear cut on FanDuel, but he’s still my top guy by a hair over Ruciniski.
Drew Rucinski
The Rucinski/Alcantara pairing on DraftKings will be the primary cash construction, so make sure to think a little outside the box if you use it in tournaments too. Rucinski is also a favorite, although to a lesser degree than Alcantara. He’s also a bit more expensive. He’s still underpriced, but it’s not the same bargain. What Rucinski does have, however, is the better raw stat profile. This year, he’s striking out 23% of batters to go along with a 3.71 FIP in 44.3 innings. If he maintains the uptick to his strikeout stuff, he’ll be a fixture in this article for the entire year.
