FREE MLB Picks September 11th DraftKings, FanDuel & Yahoo MLB DFS, with Anthony Rendon and the Nationals, Pirates and Coors Field

The following Spotlight Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman.

Matt Carpenter
FD: $3300
DK: $3400

I end up liking Matt Carpenter quite a bit when we faces a hittable righty, and today is no exception. Carpenter has always mashed lefties, with a career .474 SLG and .191 ISO. Today, we’ll have him in the 2-hole, with a cheap price point, particularly on DraftKings. Not only that, but Carpenter has dual eligibility, which makes him an even better play. He’s probably the best dollar for dollar option of the slate.

Jonathan Schoop
FD: $3200
DK: $3800

So, Hector Santiago is really bad. Over the last three years, Santiago has a 5.46 xFIP against righties. That’s over 1422 plate appearances, so a small sample issue isn’t really in play. All signs point to the Orioles being an excellent play tonight. I’m focusing on Schoop, because of his price and his position. If you don’t need a second baseman, Adam Jones and Manny Machado could easily slot into this Spotlight spot.

Anthony Rendon
FD: $3800
DK: $3800

I actually like Robbie Erlin as a pitcher, but Rendon’s price is just too good to pass on, especially with the RHH/LHP matchup. Erlin’s xFIP against righties is a full run higher than it is against lefties, which plays into this pick. Rendon has a .182 ISO and 136 wRC+ against LHP for his career. Somehow, he’s under $4000 on DraftKings. Even with the elevated price on FanDuel, he’s coming up a ton.
