DraftKings and FanDuel Spotlight Hitters & Stacks, Friday 8/10

The following Spotlight Stacks & Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman.

Cardinals (#1 DraftKings / #5 FanDuel)

  • Marcell Ozuna
  • Jedd Gyorko
  • Jose Martinez
  • Kolten Wong [FD]
  • Yadier Molina [DK]

Pricing is super specific today, so things that look great on one site might not look as good on the other. I still like the Cardinals on FanDuel, but I have significantly more on DraftKings. Matt Carpenter looks good at lead-off, but he’s really expensive. Pay up if you have the money, but he’s not a necessity. Yadier Molina is the best catcher play of the entire slate. This is another play against the Royals and their awful bullpen. I’d imagine the Cardinals will be super popular on DK because of their price, so pay attention to ownership.

Twins (#7 DraftKings / #1 FanDuel)

  • Eddie Rosario
  • Jorge Polanco
  • Miguel Sano
  • Max Kepler

While the Twins are more of a secondary stack on DraftKings, they’re the team that makes everything work on FanDuel. Eddie Rosario is the only guy in the projected lineup with a salary >=$3000. They’re hyper-cheap. By using the Twins against Jordan Zimmerman, you’ll be able to easily go all the way up to Gerrit Cole plus a high-end stack. For example, I have the Twins in a line with Cole and the Dodgers (Grandal, Dozier, Bellinger, Pederson). It’s a huge upside line coupled with the best pitcher of the slate. This is a spot where I don’t love going deep into the lineup. When everyone is cheap, grabbing someone like Jake Cave in the 9-hole is less advantageous.

Dodgers (#2 DraftKings / #4 FanDuel)

  • Joc Pederson
  • Manny Machado
  • Justin Turner
  • Cody Bellinger

The Dodgers finally popped off last night by hitting five homeruns while making me feel like less of a failure. I’m going back to them, again, tonight in Coors. For the first time all week, I do have some reservations about the match-up, mostly because of Jon Gray. I generally love to have the catcher be a part of my stack, but Yasmani Grandal for $5000 is hard to stomach. I think Yasiel Puig is a nice play on FanDuel for $3400. He should have relatively low ownership. I‘m running out of nice things to say about my adopted team.
