Angels (#2 DraftKings / #3 FanDuel)
- Kole Calhoun
- Mike Trout
- Luis Valbuena
- Andrelton Simmons
I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve talked about the Angels. A series with the White Sox should help a lot with that problem. First up: Lucas Giolito. Just Upton grades out well, as does Shohei Ohtani, but with four OFs in the projected lineup, they come in behind Calhoun and Trout. Feel free to mix and match, though. Ian Kinsler is a nice 2B option on FanDuel, but he’s slightly over-priced on DraftKings. For right now, the only guy I’m avoiding entirely is David Fletcher.
Tigers (#3 DraftKings / #2 FanDuel)
- Leonys Martin
- Niko Goodrum
- Nicholas Castellanos
- Victor Martinez
This one shocked me last night, and it’s still shocking me this morning. I think the Tigers offense is terrible, but sometimes price and matchup dictate going a different direction. That’s where we are today with Detroit against Heath Fillmyer and the Royals. Victor Martinez is crazy cheap on both sites. You can use either John Hicks or James McCann at catcher, whichever makes your line work better. The 7-8-9 spot (Candelario, Iglesias, Reyes) doesn’t look that great on DraftKings, but on FanDuel, it’s a different story. You can fit them in easily because of their low price point. The Tigers are the bargain stack of the day.
Athletics (#6 DraftKings / #1 FanDuel)
- Marcus Semien
- Mark Canha
- Khris Davis
- Jed Lowrie
We go from the bargain play to the implied total play. The A’s have the second highest implied total (behind their opponent), so they’ll be a naturally popular team. Hamels has been much better than I expected this season, but this is still a game with a total sitting at 11 as I write this. I’m focusing on Oakland’s righty bats. I’m skipping Chad Pinder on DraftKings ($4200!?!), otherwise everyone is in play. There’s a good chance my HR pick comes from this game. Tune in to the live stream tonight at 6PM EST to find out. 🙂
