DraftKings and FanDuel Spotlight Hitters & Stacks, Saturday 7/14

Josh Engleman

The following Spotlight Stacks & Hitters were selected by’s Director of Content Josh Engleman.

Rockies (#1 DraftKings / #1 FanDuel)

  • Nolan Arenado
  • Trevor Story
  • Ian Desmond
  • Chris Iannetta

Oh, Coors. It’s so hard to quit you. The Rockies have the highest implied total by a mile tonight, so they’re going to be super popular. Based on our ownership, Carlos Gonzalez is expected to have high ownership, but I’ll be largely fading due to his LHH/LHP splits. Since there aren’t any high salary pitchers going in main slate, you can make a move to get cheaper with the Rockies to be more unique, which allows you to spend up in the rest of your lineup.

Rangers (#3 DraftKings / #2 FanDuel)

  • Shin-soo Choo
  • Nomar Mazara
  • Adrian Beltre
  • Rougned Odor

If the Rockies aren’t your particular cup of tea, I’d recommend some Rangers. The lefties look super strong. Joey Gallo is tumbling down the lineup, but that doesn’t mean I want to avoid his upside. Elvis Andrus is a viable shortstop option on both sites. The only guy I don’t get to is Ronald Guzman, as he doesn’t hit enough for what I’m looking for in a first baseman.

Yankees (#2 DraftKings / #4 FanDuel)

  • Aaron Judge
  • Giancarlo Stanton
  • Brett Gardner
  • Greg Bird

The Yankees have the biggest gap between my exposure and the expected ownership. I’m currently double the field on DraftKings, and I’m 50% higher on FanDuel. I think they’re an excellent Rockies pivot, although there is some risk going against the capable Mike Clevinger. As I mentioned in the Rockies blurb, pitching is cheap. That allows me to roster Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton more than usual. I have 2X+ the field on both guys. Also, don’t sleep on Didi Gregorius, especially on DraftKings. He’s just too cheap.
