Dodgers (vs. Padres)

Opposing pitcher Brett Kennedy has been, for the most part, a disaster in his 3 MLB starts and tonight’s matchup against a stacked Dodgers team is not likely to go much better for him. He’s been blasted by both righties and lefties, allowing 42% hard-contact in total, a 29% Line-Drive rate, with a 2.14 WHIP and 5.08 xFIP, all numbers that should be picked on. There are 4 teams on the main slate with a higher total than them, but the Dodgers will be my most exposed stack because of their insane depth, as everyone outside of Dozier (98) and Kershaw has at least a 124 wRC+ against righties on the year. I’m expecting Kennedy to get bombed once again.

Mariners (vs. Diamondbacks)

What better way to gain leverage on the field than to stack against the chalkiest pitcher on the slate? Robbie Ray is a good pitcher, and could easily have a good start here, but his kryptonite is power, especially power from the right side, as he’s giving up 44% hard-contact with a 25% Line-Drive rate and a .359 wOBA against them. I don’t think Ray deserves the chalk ownership he’s going to see, so I want to attack him with some lefty mashers like Nelson Cruz and Mitch Haniger from the right side, and to complete the stack, add in some Robinson Cano and Kyle Seager, who both hit lefties well overall. If you’re not playing Ray tonight, it would be wise to get some Mariners bats in your lineup.

Astros (vs. Angels)

Jaime Barria has had a nice stretch over his last 3 starts, going at least 5 innings with 5 strikeouts in each of them, but this one of the worst matchups he’ll have all year. Barria has some pretty alarming numbers versus righties, including a 1.50 WHIP, 5.30 xFIP, .387 wOBA, and near 40% hard-contact, so a lineup that starts out with Bregman, Altuve, and Correa is not a great recipe for success for him. The rest of the Astros lineup is cheap on DraftKings, as we get Marwin Gonzalez for $3,400, Yuli Gurriel for $4,200, and Josh Reddick for $3,600, making them very easy to fit. If they can get to Barria early, this finally healthy Astros team should be able to feast on an Angels bullpen that has the 6th-highest xFIP over the last 14 days.
