The following Spotlight Stacks & Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman.
Orioles (#1 DraftKings / #1 FanDuel)
- Manny Machado
- Chris Davis
- Trey Mancini
- Adam Jones
In the shock of all shocks, I’ll be heavily stacking against Deck McGuire. The Orioles are a boom/bust option, but I’ll happily have a ton of exposure. Even at the high price point, Manny Machado looks like one of the better plays of the day. Chris Davis was dreadful for a month but has come on in a big way over the past few weeks. I like Danny Valencia as a 3B option if you need to fill that spot. Jonathan Schoop is a nice 2B on FanDuel, but a bit price prohibitive on DK.
Blue Jays (#3 DraftKings / #2 FanDuel)
- Curtis Granderson
- Yangervis Solarte
- Justin Smoak
- Teoscar Hernandez
- Russell Martin [DK]
Jordan Zimmerman’s inability to miss bats should help out the Jays considerably, as the Jays aren’t the best contact team in the league. They do have a lot of scary power, though. I recommend looking at Toronto today because of their price. They’re an absolute bargain based on their implied total and matchup. The guys I listed above are receiving the majority of my exposure, but I think you can work Aledmys Diaz into a line on either site and be OK. I rarely mind grabbing a cheap SS, no matter the talent level, so long as he’s part of a stack.
Rangers (#2 DraftKings)
- Elvis Andrus
- Adrian Beltre
- Roughned Odor
- Joey Gallo
Sorry FanDuel peeps. The Rangers are only available on the DraftKings main slate, which is a shame considering they’re one of the best options of the day. Armed with the highest implied total on the slate, Texas is looking to destroy Reynaldo Lopez and the White Sox. Shin-soo Choo has been superb this season, but he’s tough to get in bulk because of his sticker price. I have a similar feeling for Jurickson Profar. If you’re looking more to the budget side of pitching, you can get to those two guys more often. Otherwise, I’m sticking to the Andrus/Beltre/Odor/Gallo core, with some Nomar Mazara cycled in, too.
