DraftKings and FanDuel Spotlight Hitters & Stacks, Sunday 8/12

Josh Engleman

MLB DFS Picks: Quick Hits takes an early peek at Top HR Options, Stacks and Ownership Plays for the DraftKings and FanDuel 8/18/20 slates.

The following Spotlight Stacks & Hitters were selected by’s Director of Content Josh Engleman.

Twins (#1 DraftKings / #1 FanDuel)

  • Logan Forsythe
  • Miguel Sano
  • Eddie Rosario
  • Tyler Austin

Cheap, cheap, cheap. Everything here is incredibly cheap. Eddie Rosario is the most expensive Twins bat on FanDuel, and he’s only $3000. The Twins make everything work. I‘ll have a little bit of Joe Mauer, but nothing crazy. I like Mitch Garver on DraftKings as a catcher option. Ehire Adrianza is the only guy I‘m not looking at. Ultimately, I‘ll be using a bunch of Twins combinations because they‘ll unlock other expensive stacks.

Dodgers (#2 DraftKings)

  • Manny Machado
  • Joc Pederson
  • Justin Turner
  • Yasmani Grandal

With the highest implied total on the slate, the Dodgers are an excellent stack on DraftKings. Sorry FanDuel people, they aren’t included in the main slate. I get it. The Dodgers are crazy expensive. This line-up is just loaded. Justin Turner is the only guy priced under $5000, which is INSANE! It‘s hard to justify the price of Max Muncy if he‘s hitting 8th, but I‘ll have a significant amount of everyone else. I simply can‘t get enough of the Dodgers.

Tigers (#4 DraftKings / #2 FanDuel)

  • Mike Gerber
  • Jose Iglesias
  • Nick Castellanos
  • Victor Martinez

I smell a game stack. Kohl Stewart is not a great pitcher, so the Tigers have a chance to have a big night. Niko Goodrum has a nice price on FanDuel for a 2B. Jeimer Candelario works in the stack if you need a 3B. I have the same sort of feeling for James McCann. This is another cheap option that helps you get to the Dodgers (or Yankees/Red Sox).
