DraftKings and FanDuel Spotlight Hitters & Stacks, Thursday 8/16

FanDuel DFS baseball MLB picks like Aaron Nola for August 30 MLB DFS based on projections and ownership from the number 1 DFS player.

The following Spotlight Stacks & Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman.

Rockies (#1 DraftKings / #2 FanDuel)

  • Charlie Blackmon
  • Nolan Arenado
  • Carlos Gonzalez
  • Trevor Story

I’m truly shocked by where the Rockies are in my stack rankings. It’s not at all what I expected when I saw the implied total. I’m not a huge fan of Julio Teheran, and the Rockies are priced nicely on both sites. Teheran has big time struggles with lefties, so Blackman and CarGo are two of the best plays on the entire slate. While I didn’t mention him above, I’ll have a bunch of DJ LeMahieu. I’m more likely to have David Dahl on FanDuel because he’s overpriced on DraftKings. I think the Rockies will pair well with some other more expensive teams, so I’ll likely be on them all day.

Angels (#3 DraftKings / #1 FanDuel)

  • Shohei Otani
  • Justin Upton
  • Kole Calhoun
  • Andrelton Simmons

This one is way more obvious. I’d love to see more lefties against Ariel Jurado, but Calhoun and Ohtani will do. Pujols is a bargain for a 1B. David Fletcher and Taylor Ward are functional parts of the stack if you don’t want all three outfielders. I’m not looking at Francisco Arcia or Eric Young Jr, so focus your efforts on the top of the lineup. This one will be popular, so make sure you differentiate elsewhere if you want an Angels stack.

Twins (#2 DraftKings / #3 FanDuel)

  • Miguel Sano
  • Logan Forsythe
  • Tyler Austin
  • Eddie Rosario

The Minnesota Jakes! I’ve been enjoying stacking against Francisco Liriano. Guys like Sano and Austin have real, game changing power. Logan Forsythe is super under-priced, plus he has dual eligibility on DraftKings. Mitch Garver is one of my favorite catcher options on the entire slate. Johnny Field is in play on FanDuel at minimum salary, but you shouldn’t get too many shares. Ultimately, I want to have a bundle of the righties, and I’ll work in Mauer and Rosario to keep my lines unique.
