DraftKings and FanDuel Spotlight Hitters & Stacks, Thursday 8/9

The following Spotlight Stacks & Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman.

Dodgers (#1 DraftKings / #2 FanDuel)

  • Manny Machado
  • Justin Turner
  • Kike Hernandez
  • Matt Kemp

“I wish I knew how to quit you.”

The Dodgers have been killing me lately, but I’m not stopping today. With a projected line-up filled with righty hitters and lefty Tyler Anderson on the hill for the Rockies in Coors, this feels like the breakout I’ve been waiting for. Chris Taylor is the only guy I don’t have double-digit exposure to. Austin Barnes is a nice catcher play as part of a stack. Yasiel Puig is an incredible value on FanDuel at $3500, but he‘s tough to get to on DraftKings at $5300!!! I haven‘t mentioned Brian Dozier, and I‘m honestly surprised by that. The price is limiting his exposure a bit, but he‘s a clear positive option if you have the salary to get him.

Rays (#2 DraftKings / #1 FanDuel)

  • Ji-Man Choi
  • Brandon Lowe
  • Mallex Smith
  • Jake Bauers

I’d have to go back and look, but I’m not sure I remember writing about the Ray. I’m sure I have, but I can’t figure out when that would have been. David Hess is really, really bad. He has a 6.00 FIP projected via Steamer, which is the highest I’ve seen in a starter all season. You don’t normally see so many left handed hitters in a lineup, but the Rays are projecting to have 7 tonight. Kevin Kiermaier looks really good on FanDuel. I don’t want too much Joey Wendle, but if you need a 2B, I don’t hate it. Matt Duffy is a perfectly average 3B option tonight, so feel free to work him in as well.

Red Sox (#3 DraftKings / #3 FanDuel)

  • Mookie Betts
  • Steve Pearce
  • Eduardo Nunez
  • Xander Bogaerts

The fade of the Red Sox wasn’t great yesterday, but today is a new day! I don’t normally have a lot of Andrew Benintendi when Boston faces a lefty, and today is no different. Sandy Leon is significantly better against LHP, so fire him up as a sub $3K catcher on DK. Skip Jackie Bradley. If you have the salary left over, J.D. Martinez has a huge ceiling. He‘s currently #2 in my homerun model. He‘s not the easiest guy to stack, but you can swap him out for Mookie.
