Josh Engleman and Adam Scherer break down their favorite hitters, pitchers, and GPP MLB DFS picks for DraftKings, FanDuel, & Yahoo.

The following Spotlight Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman. Please check back later for notes/additional picks from Awesemo himself.

Danny Valencia
FD: $2500
DK: $2900

The Orioles sport a ton of value, but the best appears to be Danny Valencia. Valencia has shown dramatic splits in his career, so being able to grab him in a match-up versus a lefty is amazing. Valencia has a .311/.370/.494 for his career, which bodes well for his production against Daniel Norris and the Tigers.

Steve Pearce
FD: $2800
DK: $3200

Pearce is similar to Valencia, showing big splits (.497 SLG vs. LHP, .414 SLG vs. RHP) versus lefties in his career. He also has the benefit of batting lead-off for the team with the highest implied total of the slate. Pearce is the best dollar for dollar play on the board.

Nolan Arenado
FD: $4300
DK: $5300

You’ll have to pay some decent money, but Nolan Arenado has an excellent match-up against Caleb Smith and the Marlins. The run total for the Rockies is a bit muted, but this is a situation that I don’t want to miss. Arenado does work against lefties, and I think he’s primed and ready in the heart of the order.
