The following Spotlight Stacks & Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman.
Red Sox (#1 DraftKings / #1 FanDuel)
- Andrew Benintendi
- J.D. Martinez
- Mitch Moreland
- Rafael Devers
Even a Coors game with a monster total isn’t enough to take the Red Sox out of the top spot on both sites. With the second highest implied total of the slate, Boston looks to continue their destruction of right handed pitching against Marco Estrada and the Blue Jays. My primary interest is 1-7, which is currently projected to be Betts, Benintendi, Martinez, Moreland, Bogaerts, Pedroia and Devers. I don’t get a ton of Sandy Leon on FanDuel, for obvious reasons, but he does work well as a catcher option on DraftKings. I do, however, get quite a bit of Jackie Bradley instead. Barring any wholesale changes to the projected lineup, the Red Sox will easily be one of my top stacks of the day, and an excellent alternative to Coors.
Giants (#3 DraftKings / #2 FanDuel)
- Andrew McCutchen
- Buster Posey
- Evan Longoria
Now, if you’re interested in Coors bats, you’re in luck. There are only three teams with implied totals above five at the time of this writing, and all three of those teams are listed here. The Giants have shown some success against lefties this season, sporting a 102 wRC+ to go with an above average hard contact %. The best parts of San Francisco are financial. They simply don’t have the price boost generally associated with playing in Colorado. Taking on LHP Kyle Freeland, the Giants project to have seven righty bats in the lineup, with the first four (Gorkys Hernandez, Andrew McCutchen, Buster Posey and Evan Longoria) looking like the best of the bunch.
Rockies (#2 DraftKings / #4 FanDuel)
- David Dahl
- Trevor Story
- Nolan Arendado
Little surprise in the Rockies being one of my top stacks, but their pricing is simply not as good as the Red Sox or Giants. I love the guys listed above and think they’re clearly the best options. Charlie Blackmon is super expensive, particularly on FanDuel, so my ownership will be a bit muted. Ian Desmond looks ok on FanDuel, but he’s a much better option on DraftKings, especially with the dual eligibility. Even though you prefer to roster Chris Iannetta against a lefty, he’s still one of the better catcher values of the slate.
