The following Spotlight Stacks were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman. Please check back later for notes/additional picks from Awesemo himself.
BOS (@ TEX)
This one will be popular. I put J.D. Martinez in the Spotlight Hitters, but I could easily have used Mookie Betts or Hanley Ramirez. Not a ton of fear in a matchup with Mike Minor. After those three, you can finish off your stack with any of Andrew Benintendi, Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers or Eduardo Nunez. It’s hard to not love the Red Sox.
MIN (@ CWS)
Brian Dozier gets the benefit of hitting at the top of the order, but the rest of the lineup gets the benefit of hitting from the opposite side of the plate. After Dozier, Reynaldo Lopez will have to navigate through 8 straight lefty hitters, based on the current projected line-up. It’s rare to see that many lefties against a right handed pitcher. I’m in for big amount of Joe Mauer, Max Kepler, and Eddie Rosario. I think Logan Morris and Eduardo Escobar are both reasonable plays on either site.
Awesemo’s Notes
I agree with Josh that Boston will be popular on this slate because of their team total and the fact that there aren’t ace pitchers to pay up for. In a single lineup I would prefer Minnesota because I think they’re almost as good but will carry much lower ownership.
